Birthday wishes

well just a quick card today - gotta rush and get ready to go to Footy tonight - Geelong vs. Essendon! fingers crossed the mighty Geelong cats win!
Anyway, sometimes when I begin a card I get the feeling that I am not going to like the end result, well I looked at the challenge list and the popular theme this week seems to be stars and stripes - well stripes I love and I am okay with them ... but stars I am a little 'iffy' on and whenever I use them I don't like the resulting card ... well this morning I finished this card and I have to say that I really like it!!!

the little dog digging into the gift box image is so sweet and I think this would make a great card for anyone despite the rather masculine colours.
here is a close up of the star title - which I hung.

and a close up of the image and I have created a frame around the image

materials - Bazzill aloe vera card; Kaiser 'lonestar' papers; Annabelle Stamps 'party animals 1' stamp set, Queen Kat Designs 'large stars' stamp set, Kaiser 'four stars' stamp; Stazon timber brown ink, Versa Magic night sky ink; Marvy blender 0, dark brown 18, leaf green 48, sky blue 75, Tombow grey N75 pens; 1/8" blue eyelet; the twinery cappacino twine; 7mm split ring; Creative Memories circle cutters.
I have made this card following the sketch from Card Patterns #121. The frame concept is from Annabelle Stamps blog - say it with frames, the stars are from What's that theme throwdown and also Birthday Sundaes - stars and stripes. The image inspiration is from the challenge at Southern Girls - inner child - I use to love getting presents (the only time was at xmas and birthdays) and did exactly what this little dog is doing when I got them!
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend everyone.
