Lauras sketch #20

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew exactly what I was going to do ... don't you just love that when that happens!!!
I love doing what I call spinning cards, which is where the main embellishment spins along a track. They are fun and easy to make and are brilliant for childrens and male cards - they will spend hours just rocking the card from side to side getting the embellishment to spin!!
I have used Lauras sketch to do this and I am hoping I can put up a video so you can see the card in action.
I have used Bazzill cardstock, Kaiser what a hoot papers and Carolees Creations alphabet stickers.

Hey thanks for looking everyone - have a great week.

Kazans sketch #20

You know when things just don't work out for you and nothing is happening in front of you and you a becoming more and more frustrated and paper and crap is everywhere and you have a big desk but still only work on a 12 x 12 space as the paper, cardboard, pens, knives, scissors, tape etc are just piling up all around you? WELL I HAD ONE OF THOSE NIGHTS last night when trying to make this card!!!

I really struggled with this sketch!!! I started out with an idea that I was to BG Eva papers and after a few hours of shuffling and moving things about ... nothing was happening with the card. After a few expletives and Neil constantly asking "what now" I decided on Kaiser papers, a flower and a butterfly and converted them into the above card!!!

I decided that it would suit being a Birthday card for one of my sisters, I am just not sure on how it will go in the post ... I would imagine the bow would be flattened!!

Thanks for looking! and have a great week.

Lauras sketch #19

You know it is with a saddened heart that I made this card using Lauras' sketch from 2 sketches 4 U.
Last weekend we had some dreadful fires here in Victoria with some communities completely wiped out and a lot of people loosing their homes and loved ones. I think no one in Australia has been unaffected by these fires. With continuous TV and Radio coverage you could not shed a tear or 2 when watching or hearing the news about people loosing friends and family, people being reunited with the ones they thought gone, seeing the injured animals, seeing whole communities burnt, seeing the generosity of people and companies by their donations, basically you sat down to watch the news and you new within 5 minutes you would be crying! But the generosity of everyone is very overwelming, even to watch the generosity on the news is very moving ... so there has been a call out to make cards for the fire victims to remind them that we (people not affected by the fire) are thinking of them and wish them well for the future and that they are not alone and can count on the community at large.
So this card will be one of the many cards I hope to make this weekend so that it can be given to the fire victims and that they may know that I am thinking of them and that they may have a little bit of creative cheer in their lives even if it is only for a few minutes.

Kazans sketch #19

well it has been a busy and exciting week with me what with another group of cards being accepted for publication and joining a Creative Team with Black with 2 ... I have barely had time to see Neil!!! I have been busy creating, planning and thinking ... so much that I am very tired!!!
But I did manage to do Kazans fantastic sketch from over at 2 sketches 4 U. I love these sketches and have been collecting them over the months that I can begin to see my cardmaking skills improving the more I participate in this blog. When I think about it the 2 lots of cards that have been accepted I had used a lot of the 2 sketches 4 U plans as a base ... so a VERY BIG THANKYOU TO KAZAN AND LAURA for your inspirational sketches.
Anyway here is my interpretation of Kazans sketch, a friend of mine asked me to make a wedding card for her to give to someone so I used the sketch as a guide. I have used BG Lily Kate papers, cuttlebug paisley embossing, Kaiser stamp and rubons. And if you look closely there is an organza ribbon there!!!

yay I my funky doodle frame cards have been accepted for publication!!!

Yippee the cards that I made using the Kaiser Doodle Frames and Daisy bucket papers are being published in For Keeps Creative Paper issue 79. This is a real bonus as I also had another series of cards that is to be featured in the issue before (#78).

My goal for this year was to try and get more of my cards published!!! Now fingers crossed that I can get some cards published in Cardmaking, stamping and papercraft, which is my fav magazine. I did have some cards accepted by them but unfortunately I had to decline as For Keeps had already picked them up!

So I am off to have a celebratory cup of Earl Grey Tea and poor Neil will just have to put up with on cloud 9 for the next few days!!!
