Card Patterns #94

I found another card sketch blog and the sketches are really easy to use! Below is the card sketch that I followed from Card Patterns #94

below is a close up of the the flower paper clip embellishment that I made.

I have used a cuttlebug flower die and with a broad tip embossing tool I have rubbed the flower in a circular motion to make it curl and then applied glossy accents to it to give it shine and to hold its shape.

CPS #97 Hi

Here is a nice quick card that I made following the sketch from Card Positioning Systems. And I have not used a stamp! (what a shock to the system!). I loved the colours of this paper - green, teal and purple.

Tried a little bit of distressing the edges instead of inking for a change!

Just for You

Here is a card I made for Annabelle Stamps blog (red and green card) and I followed Mojo Mondays #168 sketch (I rotated it 90 degrees) now funny enough this is the 2nd card I made using red and green - the first one - I made, wrote in the card, sealed it in the envelope and posted it off ... but I forgot to photograph it before I sent it off. duh!

I don't have much green or red paper lying around so I really had to search through my supplies to find something!

Lollipop Ladies choc honeycomb challenge

The Lollipop Ladies challenge this fortnight was a tough one for me - the colour combo of chocolate brown and honeycomb yellow with the twist of hiding something sort of stumped me a bit. Nevertheless I persevered and made a birthday card for my eldest sister ... I hope she doesn't mind me revealing her age!

The pocket is a suede paper from Hot of the Press - something which I have had in the craft room for around 8 years!!! Below is what is hidden in the pocket.

Merry Christmas

It has been a busy day for me today and I have had lots of fun making the card below. I used my bauble stamp and stamped it on Shrinky Dinks and then applied the heat tool to it and it begins to shrink in size and thickens. I love using Shrinky dinks!

and a close up of the baubles

I have made this card for the following challenge blogs:
Annabelle Stamps - bauble challenge
Southern Girls Challenge - using heat on a card

CPS #196 Just a quick note

This is one of those cards that was so quick and easy to make that you feel that there is something wrong and you say to yourself "nah that was just too easy!!!" It just seemed to flow out of me! I followed the sketch from Card Positioning Systems

It is an easy to use sketch and instead of using swirls I used paper flowers.

Cardabilities Sketch #16 Bee Happy

I just loooooooooooooooved the sketch from Cardabilities this week and it was so easy to use! I have a new set of stamps from Hero Arts - Be Happy and I made the following card ...

below is a close up of the flower which I ended up fussy cutting the petals and adding foam tape to 2 of the petals to make it a bit more 3D and then applied gloss to the petals to give it a bit of shine! and not to mention added bling to the flower center to embellish it even more!

I love this set of stamps and they are so versatile and easy to use.

Jay Gee's Nook challenge

Here is a card I made for the December challenge over at Jay Gee's Nook Blog. Again it was drawing inspiration from a group of 'things'. And I think like alot of card makers the first thing that hits you when you look at the photo is the red gingham ribbon! and then I spotted the button and then the colours of beige with a little brown.

I had won a $10 voucher to spend at Jay Gee's Nook online store and they had a set of stamps titled 'the whole cycle' ... now since I am an avid cyclist I first saw them and showed them to Neil and I tell you normally he shows no interest in the products I buy but when he saw 'the whole cycle' stamp said he literally went all 'ga-ga' over them ... so I had to buy them and I think he was looking out for the post more than me waiting for them to arrive!
It is a great store check it out!

Annabelle Stamps Blog has a great easy to use sketch this month and since I have finished my christmas cards I have decided to started on my supply of stock cards for those 'just in case' times!

Lollipop Ladies #9 challenge

There is a really yummy scrummy challenge over at Lollipop Ladies and the inspiration comes from chocolate muffins with chocolate swirl icing ... mmmmmmmmm!

I love the pink and brown combination of this card - below is a close up of the muffin

For the chocolate icing I have used Puff applique which is a paint that you paint on and leave overnight to dry and then to get the 'puff' effect all you do is apply a heat tool to the painted area and it puffs up! it is a great effect for cupcake stamps and it is also great for santas beard and the white part of his santa hat if you use a white paint.
