Bauble Gift Set

Good afternoon everyone - today I have for you my DT project for The Stamp Spot.  It consists on using that fabulous product Washi Tape.  Now I know these have been around for while but they have recently joined my craft supplies and I have to tell you they are more versatile than what I initially gave them credit for :)
I have a card in Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft magazine Vol.18 No.2 issue that demonstrates Washi tape and for my card I made a flower.  So thinking laterally I used this idea to turn them into Christmas baubles and then proceeded to make 9 off them to create a little gift set ...
here are the 3 types of baubles made ...
gorgeous aren't they ... I have to mention that after making 9 baubles or 18 pleated circles I could actually make them with my eyes closed!  If you want to see how I made the baubles then click HERE.
I would like to enter this for The Craft Room Door - anything goes and Quirky Crafts - last minute xmas.
materials - washi tape; red cardstock; acetate; Kazzazz rhinestones; Cuttlebug flower dies; silver cord; MFT mini wavy pennant; red twine; button.
Thanks for looking.

Chickie Xmas

And here is the 2nd card for the morning (it is a lovely sunny day here so I think I might take a break from cardmaking and make the most of a gorgeous day!) ...
here is a close up of the little chickie from the Paper Smooches set 'chubby chums' - I made a little santa hat and stuck it on its' head to make it a little more christmassy!
I have made this card for the Paper Smooches SPARKS cool shades challenge - red, green, white and yellow.  Also following the sketch from Feeling Sketchy
and I am also entering it for the Kaboodle Doodles Christmas or Holidays anything goes challenge.

The Round Man!

Hi ya all, I have had a very productive morning here in the craft room - I completed 2 christmas cards that I don't really need for this year, but they will come in handy should I need one in a hurry within the next week or so (that usually happens) and if not then I have made a start on my 2013 christmas cards :)
I have made this card following the sketch #37 from The Sketchy Challenges and also the photo inspiration from The Scrapbook Boutique Blog.
materials used - smooth white, smooth red, C'D kiwi cardstock; Jillibean Soup 'watermelon gazpacho' and 'xmas eve chowder' papers; CC Designs 'no peeking' and 'funny christmas' stamps; Staz On jet black, Color Palette autumn inks; Crayola pencils; brads; washi tape; Couture Creations crystalina glitter glue.

Celebrate

The challenge over at Annabelle Stamps this week is a colour one - chilli, lime and waterfall (red, lime and light blue!) and I love these colours teamed up with alot of white they make a very summery combo.  For this card I used my score pal, for the challenge over at CASual Fridays, to create diagonal score lines and then proceeded to cut away diamond shapes to make a lattice effect for the background to my flowers ...
here is a close up of the lovely flowers and the lattice background ...
I added the little butterfly charm for the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday.
materials - Kaisercraft coconut cardstock; C'D lime, AC pacific and smooth white cardstock; Annabelle Stamps 'stemed flowers' and 'shape it up' stamps; Color Palette summer, magenta inks; Carl Corner punch; Score Pal; MFT royal leaves dies; Kaisercraft rhinestones; butterfly charm; 1/8" lime eyelet; 10mm split ring.
Thanks for taking the time to view my card.

Christmas Cheer

We finished building our fence this morning so that gave me the perfect opportunity to duck back into the craft room to make probably my last Christmas card for the year, although I haven't done a count yet but looking at the pile I am sure I have enough!  Been a bit slack and leaving it probably too late for the international post for the cards to get there before Christmas!
I loved making this card and colouring these little cuties!

The stamp 'no peeking' and 'funny christmas' are from CC Designs - as soon as I saw these sets I just knew I had to have them!
I have followed the sketch from Feeling Sketchy -

Drew inspiration from the photo over at The Pink Elephant -

Made it a Christmas card for a child for Party Time Tuesday, included a quote for Crafty Creations and I would like to enter it in Through The Craftroom Door anything goes challenge.
materials - AC spinach, C'D dutchess, smooth cardstock; Jillibean 'xmas eve chowder' and Authentic 'wonder' papers; CC Designs 'no peeking' and 'funny christmas' stamps; Staz On jet black, Versa Color bamboo inks; 10mm olive satin trim; Crayola colouring pencils; Basic Grey sultry brad.

A Christmas treat sleeve

Hi all, today for my posting at The Stamp Spot I have a quick tutorial on how to make a bag sleeve for those Christmas goodies that you will probably be consuming over the Christmas period :) (I did sample the candy canes that I used to fill my bags ... just to see that they hadn't gone stale or something like that!).

They are incredibly simple to make - if you would like to view the photo tutorial just click HERE and it will take you to The Stamp Spot blog.  They are great to make not only for Christmas but perfect for birthday party goody bags - kids just love them!
I would like to enter this treat bag for the following challenges:

Merry Christmas bauble

Just a quick card today - for the past few days I have been helping Neil build the fence between us and one of our neighbours ... He was not amused when I said that 'I would be able to help him as building a fence is just like making a card' - making sure things are square, cutting, hammering (if you use eyelets - sort of :)), checking if everything is straight ... yes just like making a card especially a mechanical one!!!
So in between all that I managed to make this CAS style card using annabelle stamps 'decorated christmas' stamp set which I have just managed to get my hands on as it was waiting for me in Colac for the past 3 months!
Here is a close up of the hanging bauble ...
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
CAS-ual Fridays - knots; Cupcake Crafts - merry christmas and Kaboodle Doodles - use red.
materials - Kaisercraft coconut card, AC aqua card, Canson red cardstock; annabelle stamps 'decorated christmas' stamp set; Color Palette magenta, Versa Color turquoise inks; Spellbinders large circle nesties; annabelle stamps cuts by design 'christmas baubles'; Kaisercraft silver rhinestones; Couture Creations tied together embossing folder.

Candy Cane Basket

I have been back in my craft room for a few days now and it looks like a tornado has gone through it :) and all just to make this little wee goodies basket!  Being a non traditional gal I have used the gorgeous little lady bug from Our Craft Lounge 'sending bug hugs' stamp set (which is available at The Stamp Spot) as my image.
This little basket fits in the palm of my hand and is super quick and easy to make.  If you want to see my photo tutorial on how I  made this just head on over to The Stamp Spot blog.
While assembling the contents of the basket I had these large Kaisercraft paper blooms that I never use (I find them too chunky and large on cards) so I decided to put them amongst my little candy canes as embellishments ('removable' of course!).
I would like to enter this in the following challenges:
Paper Take Weekly - anything goes, Through the Craftroom Door - anything goes, Top Tip Tuesday - Christmas, C.R.A.F.T Challenge - Christmas and Cute Card Thursday - red and green.
materials - g.c.d 'whoop de doo' cardstock, smooth white cardstock; Teresa Collins 'spring fling' papers; Our Craft Lounge 'sending bug hugs' stamps, MFT 'christmas ornaments alphabet' stamps; Versa Color camellia ink, Staz On jet black ink; 16mm green grossgrain ribbon; pinking scissors; Kaisercraft coconut paper blooms; 1/8" red eyelet.
Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend:)

Merry Christmas - dog with a present!

Howdie all, I am back and my butt is firmly planted in my craft chair!  After 11 or so weeks on the road covering over 3000km on the bike, getting an hilarious suntan line on the legs the 3 off us were very happy to get back to Melbourne yesterday - at the moment Neil is happily fixing up the garden, Kouta is happily sleeping on his fav spot on the couch and I am definitely happy to be in the craft room!  Not sure what is going on with our weather at the moment - 6 days ago we were suffering in 40 degree heat and today we are suffering with 15 degree temperatures!
Thought I would start out with a nice and easy sketch to follow from Feeling Sketchy, I have used the colour challenge from AnnaBelle Stamps - mint, emerald and rose, made a Christmas card for Top Tip Tuesday and have incorporated circles for Kaboodle Doodles ...

The dog is from AnnaBelle Stamps 'party animals 1' set.  I have made a little santa hat to give it a bit off a christmas feel to the dog.  My eldest sister has a dog that is not well so I thought this is the perfect card for her this Christmas.

materials - white cardstock, C'D sunrise orchid card; Kaisercraft 'silly season' paper; AnnaBelle Stamps 'party animals 1' stamps, MFT christmas ornaments stamp set; Staz On jet black ink; Crayola pencils; Spellbinders standard circles large and petite scalloped circles large nesties; Kaisercraft green rhinestones; Marvy emerald pen.

Seashell Sarah christmas card

Hi all, I cannot believe Christmas is only a month away ... although I am personally not a person who celebrates Christmas in a big way (you know the Christmas tree, presents, carols, decorations etc...) but I do love to make my Christmas cards/gifts and be with loved ones at Christmas time ... to me Christmas is family, friends, loved ones and most importantly ... FOOD!  especially Christmas pudding!
So I have made a shaped Christmas card using CC Designs 'seashell sarah' for my DT post over at The Stamp Spot.
I think this is an apt Christmas card for us in the Southern Hemisphere - as it is Summer and most will go to the beach at some point during their holidays!
materials used: smooth green & white cardstock, AC pacific cardstock; Echo Park ‘so happy together’ papers; CC Designs ‘seashell sarah’ stamp, MFT christmas ornaments stamps (title), AnnaBelle Stamps ‘boys party’ (boat); Staz On black inks; Crayola pencils; Kaisercraft pearls; Crystallina glitter; Carl scallop scissors; Spellbinders petite scalloped circles large and standard circles large; Ranger white opal liquid pearls
To make my santa hat you can click HERE for my quick tutorial over at The Stamp Spot Blog.

Hi all, this month over at The Stamp Spot Blog the November challenge is to create a TAG project ... to easy! and the prize is a 30% off voucher for all and any Washi tapes ... now we all love Washi tape and you can never have too much of these gorgeous products and at The Stamp Spot Michelle has a great range and they are sooooooooooooo cheap at $2.50 a roll!
So my project today is a collection of christmas gift tags using 'Tropic Topic' stamps from The Alley Way Stamps
I made these gift tags a little cheeky by combining titles from the tropic topic set and adding 'this xmas' using a MFT alphabet set.  As you can see I have used non-traditional christmas colours.

Hi there, here is my first post this month for THE STAMP SPOT.  I have chosen to preview this gorgeous 'bug hugs' set from Our Craft Lounge range.
These are a set of rubber mounted stamps and probably suited to a valentines set ... but I like a challenge and have used the little 'girl' bug and part of a title and mixed and matched it with some christmas papers and come up with this simple and easy christmas card ...
Materials used:
C’D dutchess cardstock, smooth white cardstock; Kaisercraft ‘silly season’ papers; Craft Lounge ‘bug hugs’ stamps, MFT christmas ornaments stamp set; Versa Color black ink; Crayola pencils; MFT hexagon dies; Ranger white opal liquid pearls

My Island Girl :)

Hello there, today it is my turn for the DT post for The Stamp Spot and on my last post I previewed the 'seashell sarah' stamp from CC Designs ... I have used her again but this time teamed it up with The Alley Way Stamps 'tropic topic' set of stamps.  As per usual I have created a scene for her - this time I have paper pieced coconut tree from the tropic topic set, made a little rafia hula skirt for her and cut out the seashell she usually holds and instead made her hold a flower so that it looks like she is putting it in her hair ... just like a hula island girl!  I have then placed her on an island surrounded by water which I made using inverted scalloped scissors!
If you haven't entered by now you still have time to enter in this months challenge - great prizes up for grabs and a guest DT spot too and all you have to do is use any brand of stamp that The Stamp Spot has in your project ... check out the details HERE.
materials - Bazzill whirlpool, harvest, walnut, fawn cardstock, smooth white card, C’D aquamarine cardstock; Basic Grey ‘hello luscious’ papers; CC Designs ‘seashell sarah’ stamps, The Alley Way Stamps ‘tropic topic’ stamp set, AnnaBelle Stamps ‘party animals 1' (title) stamp set; Crayola pencils; rafia; paper flowers; Kaisercraft pearls; Carl scalloped scissors

CC Designs 'seashell sarah'

Howdy folks - here is my DT post for The Stamp Spot.  Michelle has changed the way they do the monthly challenges and it is just too easy now to enter - simply use a stamp brand from any that she stocks in The Stamp Spot (it doesn't have to be the actual stamp just the stamp BRAND!), make a project using that brand and upload your entries HERE ... now that is one easy challenge.
This posting I preview a stamp from one of the brands that you can find in The Stamp Spot - it is from CC Designs 'seashell sarah' this is a great stamp and despite the large skin area it is very easy to colour as the stamp also comes with a picture of her already coloured and you can use that as a guide.
For this card I made a little scene and I even used coloured sands to give it more of a beach feel!
materials - Bazzill casa cardstock; AC white card; C’D tranquil blue, buttercup cardstock; Staz On black, Versa Color topaz inks; CC Designs ‘seashell sarah’, Kaisercraft beach houses; AnnaBelle Stamps ‘dotted flowers’ stamps; Crayola pencils; MFT chat bubbles and flat bottom clouds dies; coloured sand

Streaky Bay, it is hot, thirsty work pedalling!

Using the gorgeous christmas papers from Kaisercraft I made a little santa hat for my girl image.  If you visit my posting over at The Stamp Spot blog you can view a quick tutorial on how I made the Santa hat so you too can use any of your 'people' images to make Christmas cards.

She is a dream to to colour!

I also decorated a picture frame to be given with this card as a thankyou gift ...

Hello there - it has been over a week since I last posted ... I was in NZ visiting my new nephew who I have to say is absolutely adorable (not that I am bias!)
So glad to be back in the craft room ... but not for long as we are hoping to leave mid next week for a 3 month cycle stint over to South Australia!

birthday wishes '18'

ode to be '18' again ... not!  Hind sight is a wonderful thing and I look back and although I had less grey hair and wrinkles at 18 and was thinner - I prefer life now than back then!
So my sister in law skypes me last night saying a friend wants an 18 birthday card for her daughter who loves bling ... now I am due to go to NZ for a week tonight (to meet me brand new nephew!) and have very little time to put something together but I did manage to set aside  few hours this morning to attempt to make something so I am hoping she likes it ... not sure if I do!
I have followed the sketch from Feeling Sketchy, used ribbon and bows for Crafty Catz challenge and included bling for Cute Card Thursday.
materials - White cardstock, C'C Amaryllis cardstock; Teresa Collings 'spring fling' papers; Versa Color orchid, mint and turquoise inks; AnnaBelle Stamps 'party animals 1' stamps; Fiskars round the bend punch; Provocraft paisley embossing folder; Spellbinders labels 18 nesties; Mpress butterflies die; MFT little open scalloped edge and mini rolled roses.
Thanks for looking.

with deepest sympathy

It is a beautiful spring day here in Melbourne and I am loving the fact that the weather is warm and dry!
I came across a packet of bird wood flourishes this morning and decided that I would use one of the birds for a sympathy card.  They are great to use - all I did was ink them up with various coloured inks, a little shading here and there and viola! ...
here is a close up of the bird ...

I have followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday, used ribbons and bows for Crafty Catz and made it a sympathy card for The Pink Elephant.
materials - Kaisercraft watermelon cardstock, white cardstoc; Echo Park 'for the record' papers; AnnaBelle Stamps 'ballerina rose' stamps; Staz On jet black, Versa Color vanilla, topaz, paprika and old rose inks; Black grosgrain; Kaisercraft pearls, bird wood flourish; Fiskars lacy edge punch; Spellbinders labels 4 nesties; 1/8" eyelet; 7mm split ring; Ranger white opal liquid pearls.
Thanks for looking.

hello friend

This weeks challenge over at AnnaBelle Stamps is spots, dots and anything round! now I love dotted paper (if I could find wallpaper with polka dots I would put it in my craft room ... very psychodellic LOL!)
So using 'tomorrows dreams' stamps set, alot of fussy cutting and paper piecing I made this card ...
normally the little girl would be holding a kite but I substituted it for a flag for the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays - banners and flags.
materials - AC pacific, black and white cardstock; Jillibean Soup papers (various); AnnaBelle Stamps 'tomorrows dream' and 'dotted flower' stamps; Staz On jet black, Versa Color sky blue, bamboo, lime inks; Crayola pencils; Spellbinders standard circles large, petite scalloped circles large nesties, MFT mini wavy banner dies; Ranger buttercup liquid pearls; Kaisercraft pearls.
Thanks for looking.

Happy birthday ...

Neils cousin has a birthday coming up and she likes owls so I thought I would make her a card from the both of us ...
and a close up ...

I have used a variety of stamps to make this card (love to mix and match my sets!)
I have followed the sketch from Feeling Sketchy

and have included bling for Cute Card Thursday and gems and twine for Crafty Creations.
materials - Moss card, Kaisercraft coconut card, AC spinach card; Jillibean Soup 'apple cheddar soup' papers; Paper Smooches 'chubby chums', Lawn Fawn 'critters down under', AnnaBelle Stamps 'party animals 1' stamps; Staz On timber brown, Versa Color bamboo inks; Crayola pencils; Kaisercraft rhinestones, Twinery twine.
Thanks for looking.

happy 60th birthday

I was asked to make a 60th birthday card for a male who likes the colour grey ... first I thought crikey a male and then I thought crikey 60 (so cartoon animals are a no go!) but I had just got the MME Miss Caroline 'dilly dally' papers and looked amoungst those and saw there was alot of greys and used that as inspiration for my card ... half way through it I remembered I had some sprightly spocket dies and thought that would make a great embellishment for a male card ...
from this side view you can see that I made it as a step card ...

male cards can be difficult at times especially if you don't know the person so I always try to make a card that has some sort of  mechanical element to it ... like a step card.  The frame around the title is made from cutting strips of woodgrain paper, trimming them to varying lengths and making a frame for a more interesting effect.
I am entering this for the chipboard challenge over at Southern Girls - the wood frame is mounted on chipboard and the '60' is chipboard.
materials - grey linen cardstock; MME Miss Caroline 'dilly dally' papers; AnnaBelle Stamps 'dotted flowers' stamps (title); Versa Color black, vanilla and chateau grey inks; AC thickers-black hatbox alphabet; Spellbinders Standard circles large and sprightly sprockets dies; Creative Impressions screw brads.
Thanks for looking.

Hello swing card

I have seen these swing cards around and there was a great tutorial over at Stamp, Embellish, Create and I decided that it was easier than what I had first anticipated and so I decided to make one for my DT post over at The Stamp Spot blog ...
this is a little out of character for me using this cute little tulip birgitta image from CC Designs - you can purchase this stamp from The Stamp Spot - Michelle has a great range of CC Design stamps over there.  In fact I was so inspired by this little girl image that I ended up buying some more 'girl' stamps - I have even bought a 'some odd girl' stamp which is REALLY unlike me but I thought that I need to try other images apart from cartoon and animal style cards!
I ended up doing a photo tutorial which you can find HERE.
Thanks for looking.

Feel better soon - butterfly

okay here is yet another get well card! This time I followed this sketch from Feeling Sketchy and I also dug out a set of stamps that I haven't used for a while from Penny Black 'to you' and I used the gorgeous butterfly and flower from this set for the Scrapbook Boutique 'add a butterfly' challenge ...
here is my card ... I think in hindsight I should have distressed the edges of the paper ... but it was too late as I had stuck down all the paper ... so I have kept to my usual 'clean lines' :)
here is a close up ...

the orange lacy strip running down is a border punch which I trimmed down my card to a suitable width and then punched one long edge and then the other to make it lacey!
materials used - white cardstock; DCWV 'spring fling' cardstock and matstock papers; Penny Black 'to you' stamps, AnnaBelle Stamps 'dotted flowers' stamps (title); Staz On jet black, Versa Color vanilla inks; Crayola pencils; Cream satin trim; Carl corner punch; Fiskars lacy border punch; Sizzix large oval die; Ranger white opal liquid pearls; Kaisercraft pearls.
