Cardabilities Sketch 38 - welcome

It is the end of the month and that means another sketch from Cardabilites - Karan has created this fab sketch and I for one can't wait to see what the other card designers have done with this sketch - you can view their beautiful work by checking out the Cardabilities blog.

Thought I would do a baby card for this sketch - I have these stamps from Verve and I love the little animals in them!

a close up of the elephant in a frame and my flower embellishment.

and the kites ...

... now all I need is for someone that I know to have a baby boy!

I really enjoyed making this card - my favourite part is the kites! I did however use something that is really old in the paper crafting world ... in fact I think there should be a 'crafting mueseum' and this should be in it ... do you remember the EK Success retro flower punch? ohhhh gasp is all I can hear around the world! yes you own one don't you?!!! well I used the medium one to make my flower by punching 3 of them keeping 2 the same size and the 3rd I divided into individual petals and then rearranged them to made a smaller flower. Before assembling the flower I used a broad tip embossing tool on the back to give it bit of a curl.

I am also submitting this card for the challenge over at Totally Stampalicious - use 3 different punches and Creative Card Crew - anything goes.

materials - AC blue jay cardstock; Fancy Pants 'baby mine' papers; Verve 'to the moon' stamps; Stazon jet black ink, Versa Magic night sky ink, Versa Color olive ink; Stizzix tipsy heart die, Provocraft dot embossing folder and circle dies; EK Success medium retro flower; Ranger liquid pears, Kaisercraft blue rhinestons; Bazzill large brad; Twine and natural cord.
Thanks for looking.
