High Heels

Here is a card I made this afternoon - I bought these stamps a while a go thinking they would make a great card for my niece or younger sister. So Creative Card Crew this fortnight had a 'best foot forward' challenge so I thought this would be a good excuse to use these stamps and make a birthday card. The colours are for the challenge at Kaboodle Doodles - primary colours, I have incorporated a little faux hand sewing for Cupcake Crafts 'sew mad' and the sketch is from Card Patterns #127.

I stamped the high heel shoes, fussy cut them, coloured them in and then applied glossy accents to them.

I love the bold and brightness of this card.

Happy Birthday Friend

I made a card yesterday afternoon and I have to admit it is different from what I normally make and I sort of struggled with it, after quite a few attempts I finally settled on the card below - still not sure of it!

It is difficult to see in the photo but I used an embossing tool to raise the centers of the open circles as well as created an embossed border around the title.

I think what it is with this card is that I tried to combine challenges and every challenge I added to it - it became harder to make! The first challenge is Annabelle Stamps blog - and that was to make a card with one layer, then I added the challenge from Card Positioning Systems which is a sketch so that complicated but challenged me! then I decided oh what the heck lets go for a colour challenge from Jay Gees Nook blog - photo inspiration and I chose the colours of purple and white, so by now I was really streeeeeeeeeeeeeetching my brain to create and then I thought okay one more challenge! ... nice and easy for Birthday Sundaes - a birthday card!!!
LOL I am a stickler for creative punishment!

Another christmas card!

Hi De Hi bloggers! I made another christmas card this afternoon (like birthday cards ... you can never have to many of these!). Since there are not too many christmas paper releases at this time of the year I used last years christmas papers from Echo Park - everybody love christmas - I love the bright colours in this set!

I have made this card following the fabulous sketch by Liz Weber over at The Stamp Spot blog. The theme is inspired from the challenge over at Simon Says, the use of heaps of colours is for Wee Memories - use more than 4 colours (I think I managed that!). I have incorporated bling on my card for Designed 2 Delight and I am also submitting to Crafts & Me - anything goes.

Celebrate today and everyday

I am really happy how this card turned out this afternoon. My main inspiration comes from Top Tip Tuesdays who had a colour challenge this week - blue, green and brown. I think these colours together are quite masculine but I didn't want to make a masculine card so I set the challenge to myself this afternoon to make a more feminine card using these colours. I have used the sketch from Mojo Monday, made it into a birthday card for Party Time Tuedsay and incorporated something from the garden (butterfly and flowers) for Kaboodle Doodles.

although the colours are very solid I think the card is very pretty and the blue floral paper from Lily Bee Design gives it that little bit of femininity!

Happy 12th Birthday

I believe in making cards for people well in advance ... this card is no exception - it is for my youngest nephew who I think is turning 12 next February ... thought I would get in early! I say 'I think he is 12' and I am almost sure he is 12 next year ... mind you I was sure that my eldest nephew was turning 21 next year as well and I was telling my mother and sister that I was planning to book my flight to NZ soon so I could be there for his 21st and I asked if they knew if he was having a big celebration for it ... they were dumb founded that I was getting in so early ... then they realised that I really thought he was turning 21 next year ... they all laughed and said he is only 20 next year! Lucky I didn't book my flight!
Anyway here is the card I made following the sketch from Annabelle Stamps blog (they are having their new releases this week and todays reveal was fabulous!). I am also submitting it for Birthday Sundaes - cakes and cupcakes and Cupcake Crafts - numbers.

You are my sunshine

Here is a bright sunny card for you ladies! Although we are in our winter down here in the Souther hemisphere but for some strange reason we have just had 2 days of the winter temperature hitting 19-20 degrees centigrade which is around 68 degrees fahrenheit (spelling?) so that is very warm for us so I think this card is quite appropriate for us at the moment!

I love making these rosette flowers out of my petite scalloped circle dies at the moment - I can't get enough of them! below is a close up of them along with my hand made buttons.

I enjoyed making this card from alot of different branded papers and using lots of different components - I must admit I did have to measure out everything so that it would fit in on a card! The sun is made from a circle and the sun rays are made using a primitive heart punch and trimming off the bumps. My buttons are all hand made using patterned paper so it coordinates with everything!

Happy 60th

Hi there bloggers - I had my mother in law ring up asking me to make a 60th wedding anniversary card as she could not find a card in the shops with 60th on it. Now Neils Aunt and Uncle celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this weekend and I made their card a month or so ago and I sort of didn't bother with the words wedding anniversary or even 60th - I just made a general anniversary card but I made it in my style - so I sort of panicked when Neils mum asked me as I feel I should make a card that suits her personality. I did one attempt and didn't like it so I redid it and was happy with the final result.

I have found a new use for my Spellbinders petite scalloped circle dies - I cut 2 the same size and score every 2nd scallop, cut a line to the middle through one scallop and proceed to do a series of mountain and valley folds, I repeat this to the 2nd scalloped circle and join the 2 together to make this rosette type flower - I love it!

Of course I make the flower center by making my own buttons - I find it easier to do that rather than hunt down buttons to match!
