Hi all, it is my turn to post on The Stamp Spot today and I have made this tab slider card. These are great cards to make and are perfect to hide a secret message or to create an element of surprise. To see how I have made this card you can click HERE and this will take you to The Stamp Spot blog where I have posted a tutorial complete with photos and easy to follow steps.
I was inspired to make this card for the following challenges - Secret Crafter - bright and cheerful, Crafty Creations - buttons and Papertake Weekly challenges - make your own (I made my own buttons out by layering paper on light chipboard and die cutting it into circles and punching 2 small holes to create buttons!).
Here is my card ...
You pull the ribbon up and a 2nd title is revealed ...
materials - black cardstock, C'D blue moss, AC olive, coffee, Bazzill apricot, beeswax cardstock; Pink Paislee 'prairie hill' papers; Paper Smooches 'chubby chums', 'alphadot' and 'fruitastic' stamps; Staz On jet black ink; MFT little open scalloped edge, branch with leaves and chat bubbles dies, Spellbinders standard circles large nesties, Carl corner punch; The twinery charcoal twine, Ranger buttercup liquid pearls; Crayola pencils; 1/8" eyelets.

Joy, Love, Peace
Hey all, it is very cold here in Melbourne and it can't decide if it wants to rain or shine! AnnaBelle Stamps has a great CAS sketch to work with this week and they are promoting their christmas stamps sets and feeling a little inspired by their preview of the Christmas Baubles stamp set and their sketch ...
I made this card (I did rotage the sketch)
the words are from the Christmas bauble set and the little icon is from Background By Design 2 stamp set. I made my background scoring on my scoreboard and embellished it with random silver bling.
materials - black cardstock, metallic white card; AnnaBelle 'christmas baubles' and 'BBD2' stamps; Encore silver ink; clear embossing powder; Kaisercraft silver and black rhinestones; heat tool, scoreboard.

Just one card this afternoon - since it is winter here it was quite refreshing to make a summery card for the challenge over at The Pink Elephant. above is the sketch that I followed - I ended up switching the were the sentiment was.
materials - black cardstock, AC powder, Bazzill apricot cardstock; Jillibean Soup 'watermelon gazpacho' papers; Lawn Fawn 'swimsuit season'; Versa Color black ink; Craft Concepts hexagon illusion embossing folder; Kaisercraft rhinestones.
Hey thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

hello christmas
Hello there, I'm back and happily nestled back in my craftroom. Neil and I popped up to the Sunshine Coast for the week (his parents go on their annual pilrimage up to the warmer climate while it is cold down here in Victoria and we thought we would join them for a week ... mind you it was only marginally warmer than down South!)
Anyway I decided to join the sketch challenge from Feeling Sketchy and make a christmas card for AnnaBelle stamps, Quirky Crafts and Party Time Tuesday blogs which all have a christmas theme!
here is my card - I stamped a santa hat I have and then masked it and stamped the little girl from tomorrows dream so she is wearing the santa hat ...
here is a close up of the little sweetie ...
I applied crystalina kindy glitz to the hat to give it a little sparkle!
materials - White cardstock; Kaisercraft 'silly season' papers; AnnaBelle Stamps 'tomorrows dream', 'stemmed flowers' (hello title), MFT christmas ornaments stamps (christmas title) and Ferngully 'santa hat' stamps; Staz On jet black, Versa Color sky blue and Versa Magic night sky inks; Crayola pencils; Inque grosgrain; green brad; kindy glitz crystalina; Kaisercraft red pearls.

A little something Just for You
Hi all, just a nice quick simple card this morning following the colour inspiration challenge from AnnaBelle Stamps say it in red, green and white, show us your strips from CAS-ual Fridays, using punches/dies for Party Time Tuesdays and a free for all for Crafty Creations ...
The strips of paper are cut from MME Stella & Rose - gertie papers and I just randomly cut them into varying widths and lengths, cut banner ends at one end and attached them to the card and just gently curled the banner ends to add a little 3D interest to the card.
The die cut label is from AnnaBelle Stamps shapes 1 - it is actually wider but I realigned it the 2nd time to trim of the middle so the message doesn't appear lost in the die - KWIM?
materials - white cardstock; MME Stella & Rose -gertie papers; AnnaBelle Stamps 'squared posies' stamps; Versa Color bamboo ink; AnnaBelle Stamps shapes 1 dies; red brads.

Congratulations on your wedding day
Here is the first card for today - continuing on with Moxie Fab World Stamp It! card week I made a congratulations card. I have used this weeks sketch from Mojo Mondays and have used pastel colours (although the paper photographed a little brighter than it actually is!) for Secret Crafter.
Here is a close up of the love birds - I paper pieced them and stamped the bird cage on acetate, created a little door way that can open and close. The bird cage hangs freely from the congratulations title ...

I was really happy with the way this card turned out - very CAS :) just using ink and card and a little colouring.

I used the love theme for Moxie Fab World - Stamp It! card week and used text in some way for the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays.

Merry Christmas
It is a wee bit miserable outside at the moment (it is trying to rain!) There seems to be an emphasis on Christmas in July on the challenge blogs ... so I decided to continue on my pile on christmas cards (one can never have too many chrissy cards :) I used the little girl image from AnnaBelle Stamps 'tomorrows dream' - I enjoy colouring her ... as I was colouring her one thing struck me while colouring her hair ... my question is ... when we colour any hair do we colour it, whether it be intentional or unintentional, as a reflection of our own hair colour? I mean I always colour hair a brown simply because my hair is dark brown ... mind you if I did do it to reflect my hair colour I should also include a few 'grey' streaks in there LOL :) Anyway here is my card ...
a close up of the girl (with no grey streaks in her hair :)
I would like to submit this for The Pink Elephant - xmas in July challenge
AnnaBelle Stamps blog - say it with Snowflakes and also their little community Stamp, Embellish, Create whose monthly challenge is 'polka dots'
and I have followed the sketch from The Sketchy Challenges blog
materials - AC leaf, C'D harborside; Echo Park 'everybody loves christmas', Jillibean Soup 'christmas eve chowder' papers; Staz On jet black, Versa Color sky blue, chateau grey, frost white inks; AnnaBelle Stamps 'tomorrows dream', MFT 'christmas ornament stamp set', All night media 'snowflake cluster' stamps; Celebrations clear glitter embossing powder; Crayola pencils; MFT mini wavy pennants, Sizzix large oval tag, AnnaBelle Stamps shapes 1 dies; 3/16" white flower eyelet; Francheville trim; Natural cord.

for you slider tab box
Good morning everyone, I had a busy day yesterday making a slider tab box for my first July post using the July Spots over at The Stamp Spot blog.
Now I don't know about you but I lurrrrrrrrrrrrrve spots and polka dot papers, ribbon, embellishments ... anything with dots on :) and when ever I buy paper I tend to find pads that have dots on and always use the dot paper first! So when I saw the 'spot' challenge over at Crafty Catz weekly challenge blog I knew I just had to use my gorgeous yellow and white big polka dot paper from Pink Paislee 'prairie hill'. Incorporating a few pearls for the challenge over at Southern Girls - my flower centers (I finally have mastered the MFT mini rolled roses dies!) and also liquid pearls (dots around the labels 4 edges). I am also submitting it for Papertake Weekly challenge blog which has anything goes as their challenge this week.
This is the view from the top ...
a view from the side ...
and when the box is opened ... a little tab appears where you write your message ....
I had so much fun making this slider tab box - when I received the Splitcoast Stampers weekly newsletter I had a go with their measurements and after making a few alterations I managed to make mine!
If you would like to make one click HERE and this will take you to the Stamp Spot blog where my tutorial is - I must warn you that it is in metric measurements but it should be easy to change into imperial if that is the measurements you usually use.
materials - black cardstock; Pink Paislee 'prairie hill' papers; Versa Color frost white and black inks; MFT mini wavy pennant and mini rolled roses dies, Spellbinders standard circles large nesties, petitie scalloped circles large nesties and labels 4 nesties; MFT 'mini banner day alphabet' stamps, AnnaBelle Stamps 'squared posies' stamps; yellow satin trim; split ring; Kaisercraft black pearls; Ranger buttercup liquid pearls; 3/16" flower eyelet.
Thanks for looking and enjoy your week.

Smiles
A CAS card this morning ... it definitely wasn't quick to do :) I was inspired by the challenge over at Paper Smooches - trend watch and the button challenge over at Cupcake Crafts and I followed the sketch from Retro Sketches ...
First I thought about the Paper Smooches picture of a red shopping trolley and decided to use the colour and also food - 'fruitastic' stamp set and then I looked at the sketch and Cupcakes button challenge and thought the hearts could be buttons and then it hit me - stamp the apple on shrink-it, punch holes at the eyes to make them into little buttons ... hence why the card took a while to do - colouring 6 apples was painful (and boring at times!) I was very happy with the way the card turned out ...
here is a close up of my handmade apple buttons
basically I stamped them on Aleene's shrink-it, coloured them with pencils (remember when colouring on shrink-it that, once heated, the colours deepen considerably), fussy cut them, punched holes where the eyes were and used a heat tool to shrink them.
materials - C'D dutchess card, white cardstock; Paper Smooches 'fruitastic' and 'alphadot' stamps; Aleene's shrink-it (opaque); lime green grosgrain; button; twine; Staz On jet black; Crayola pencils
Thanks for looking.

Penguin Merry Christmas
Hi ya peeps, I have started my christmas card list (I don't like leaving anything to the last minute :) so both Secret Crafter and Through the Craftroom Door had 'christmas' as their challenge theme this week/fortnight so following the sketch from Mojo Mondays #248 I made this card ...
the stamps are from Jillibean Soup 'christmas eve chowder' and they are great - fun to colour or paper piece. Here is a close up of the penguins which I coloured with pencils and added kindy glitz to their scarves and beanies. I also used MFT wonky border and applied glitter to make my snow ...
I would also like to enter this for Papertake Weekly challenge blog who has anything goes this week with the optional extra of adding glitter to the image.
materials - AC pacific, chestnut and bubblegum cardstock; Jillibean Soup 'christmas eve chowder' papers and stamps; Staz On timber brown, MFT wonky border die; Spellbinders labels 18 nesties; Crayola pencils; crystallina kindy glitz; Kaisercraft pearls; crystal glitter.

Our Anniversary Card :)
This month Neil and I celebrate our 15th Anniversary (to quote a chef I use to work with "you get less for murder here in Australia" LOL) so I thought I would make an anniversary card for him ... now I know he is expecting something to do with bicycles (since we both are mad about cycling) but I recieved some Bugaboo digital stamps and I just love their Stella & Gus range (in fact all their Stella, Marge, Gus etc ranges) - they are so funny and I love a good chuckle when it comes to handmade cards and this card is perfect for the "make us laugh" challenge over at Quirky Crafts ... so here is my card using Stella and Gus 'instructions and mute' ...
I used the sketch from Feeling Sketchy ...
and my colour inspiration comes from The Pink Elephant photo ...
materials - Bazzill kraft, C'D dutchess, AC sapphire cardstock; Jillibean Soup 'watermelon gazpacho' and Kaisercraft 'nans favourite' papers; Bugaboo digital stamps 'stella and gus instructions and mute'; Carl scallop scissors; Spellbinders petite scallop circles large nesties; Crayola pencils; button.
Thanks for looking.

Spinner card - happy birthday to you
Hi there, here is another card for today - a CAS type card following this sketch from AnnaBelle Stamps blog
as soon as I saw this sketch I thought of a spinner card ... incorporating 2 circles for the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays I made this birthday card ...
tip the card on its' side and the circle rolls down to the end and tip it again the other way and the circle rolls back down the other way ... I did make this card to be given to a boy but I know that adults just love playing with this type of card!!!
materials - AC robins egg, white cardstock, C'D poinsettia card; Basic Grey 'hello luscious' papers; AnnaBelle Stamps 'boys party' stamps; Versa Color black, mint and camellia ink; Spellbinders standard circles large nesties; Cuttlebut circle dies; Kaisercraft rhinestones
Thanks for looking.
Birthday wishes from all of us
I was chatting to my mother the other day and she mentioned that she has no more 'boy' birthday cards so lately I have been on a mission to stock up on some. Using this weeks sketch #69 from Papertake Weekly Challenge and incorporating the challenge from Craft Catz Weekly challenge - metal I made this card - really it could be for a boy or girls ... even an adult!
I was browsing through my enormous stash of brads and I found these screw looking brads (it pays to regularly go through your stash to 'jog' your memory of everything you have!) and thought they would be wonderful to use on this card - I have now kept them out to use them later on.
materials - C'D dutchess cardstock; 3 Bugs in a Rug 'lazy summer' papers; Paper Smooches 'chubby chums' stamps; Crayola pencils; Creative Impressions 'screw brads'
Thanks for looking.
