totally sweet

Hi all, 2 cards for today and for this card I followed the sketch from Card Positioning Systems and also for the Kaboodle Doodles challenge of adding Dimension.

I have raised the bowl with mounting tape (I have decided one cannot go far without ones mounting tape!) so the strawberries appear to be sitting in the bowl ...

You will notice that I have been posting alot of cards with Paper Smooches stamps well I am submitting it for their guest DT for June and since I only have one set (fruitastic) I am using that set to death!!!  I have developed a liking for this manufacturer of stamps as they are cute and quirky!
materials - AC Jade cardstock, white cardstock; Teresa Collins 'spring fling' papers; Paper Smooches 'fruitastic' stamps; Staz On jet black ink, Versa Color magenta ink; Spellbinders circle nesties; MFT wonky scalloped border die; Ranger 'white opal' liquid pearls.
Thanks for looking.

with deepest sympathy

Hello there - I am still in NZ with the family and will stay here until next weekend.  Thanks for all the well wishes for my Dad.  He is recovering wonderfully and despite having a heart attack he is a relatively fit man and is already out and about doing long walks ... although the fact that he cannot cycle on his bike physically (only on a stationary bike) or kayak is driving him mad ... another 2 1/2 months until he can do those ... so just walking for now!
Yesterday I managed to sit down and have a play with my limited cardmaking supplies.  I made a sympathy card for my sister who had sorted through her cards and found she had none as a back up so here is one I made following the sketch from Mojo Mondays - circle or square.  I have incorporated the May Spots from The Stamp Spot which is bling, some pink and flowers,  2 or more ribbons for Party Time Tuesdays, ribbons and pearls for  Paper Sundaes and Texture for the new monthly challenges over at AnnaBelle Stamps - Stamp Embellish and Create - this is a great little community of like minded stampers so head on over and join! For this texture challenge I tried something new (well for me it is!) I stuck a piece of pink organza on white cardstock and then embossed it so it looked like the ribbn was embossed ... it sort of worked so I tried it again on a 2nd piece of ribbon - this time a satin trim and again attached it to cardboard and then embossed it and I found it came out better ... check out the close up photo.
The background paper is actually AnnaBelle Stamps 'ballerina rose'  that I randomly stamped on 2 strips of white cardstock and then coloured  in with coloured pencils.

a close up of the embossed ribbon!

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Hello there bloggers ... I have been a bit absent lately ... in fact our original plans of cycling around half of Australia after easter until the end of the year had to be tabled until next year!  Unfortunately my father had a heart attack and was hospitalised for a couple of weeks and then had a heart bypass so I decided to pop over here to NZ to look after him and mum in his recovery ... he is doing well and to look at him you would never guess that he has had heart surgery!
So now I am in the process of doing some thank you cards for the 2 hospitals he was in, the Intensive Care Unit and to a particular senior nurse that took time out to explain to my family the heart bypass process and the rehabilitation involved ... so here is the first ...

I am submitting it for the sketch from Card Patterns #162 (I rotated it on its side), Paper Sundaes 'let's get cute' and the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge which is from the following picture ...

materials - white cardstock, AC cranberry cardstock; Basic Grey 'hello luscious' papers; Paper Smooches 'fruitastic' stamps, MFT alphabet set; Staz On jet black, Versa Color scarlet; Spellbinders standard circles large; 1/8" eyelet; 7mm split ring; Ranger ruby red liquid pearls; Ranger glossy accents; 16mm satin trim
Thanks for looking.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to everyone out there in blog land.  Today I made a little tag for an easter goodie bag!  I primarily followed the April Spots from this months challenge over at the Stamp Spot - their spots for April are oval, brown and stitching ... now I can't sew so I cheated and did a little 'faux stitching' on my basket handle so I hope that is okay!  I am also entering it for the challenge over at Top Tip Tuesdays - easter and Creative Card Crew - spring.

and here is the tag on the little goodie bag ...

I created a little basket tag and have used the large oval tag from Sizzix oval tag dies and used the medium tag as a template to cut away the inside to create a basket handle.  Then I wove some strips of brown cardstock and attached it to the base and trimmed off the excess to the shape of the tag.  Popped 3 little eggs in the viola!
I loved making this little tag - it is so easy to make.  Now I do have a little TIP for Top Tip Tuesdays challenge blog - to create little eyes use small pearls and mark the pupils with a permanent black marker and seal with a dollop of glossy accents so that the black pupil doesn't rub off as it is handled.
materials - AC chestnut and coffee cardstock, Core 'dinations wheat cardstock; Jillibean apple cheddar papers; Jillibean Soup 'eggcellent' stamps; StazOn timber brown ink; Signo white gel pen; Ranger baby blue liquid pearls; Aleenes shrink plastic; 7mm split ring; green 1/8" eyelet; 10mm light blue gingham; mullberry flowers.
Thanks for looking.

welcome precious little one

Hello there bloggers.  It has been a little quiet around this blog lately!  But I did manage to create this baby card following the sketch from Mojo Mondays #235.  I am also submitting it for the challenge over at Cupcake Crafts 'in my sewing box' where I have used buttons as the wheels on my pram.  And the challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles - anything but a rectangle so I made the card square.  And also Southern Girls 'got something to say' - include a quote.

I love the little pram that I made out of Spellbinders standard circle large and petite scalloped circles large nestabilities dies.

materials used - American Crafts pomegranate cardboard; Basic Grey 'hello luscious' papers; Verve 'to the moon' stamps; StazOn timber brown ink; buttons; 20mm white organza; Ranger buttercup liquid pearls; 7mm split ring; 1/8" yellow eyelet; MFT little open scalloped edge; Sizzix small oval tag; Spellbinders standard circle large nesties and petite scalloped circles large nesties.
Thanks for looking and have a great Easter everyone!
