It has been 3 months since I have posted on my blog, that is not to say I haven't made any cards ... just not cards based on challenge blogs!
Lately I have been playing around with texture paste and I have to admit that I do like how it comes out. I have been seeing alot of texture paste in scrapbooking and mixed media and I wondered if it would work with clean and simple cards ... I think it looks good using stencils and even by itself with minimal fuss to highlight it (the way it is used in mixed media is not my style!).
Todays card I have used it with a stencil and kept it in its' natural white colour form (I have coloured it with ink and it looks great!).
I have followed the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #197
I would also like to enter it in The Southern Girls challenge of anything goes and Papertake Weekly Challenges - take your pick (and I choose a colour theme of green and blue). Here is my card
and a close up of the texture paste
materials used: Bazzill limeade, American Crafts cascade, smooth cardstock; Tim Holtz bird crazy stamp, The Alley Way Stamps gotta bug? (title); Versafine onyx black ink; Kaisercraft Geo Quarters stencil; Tim Holtz texture paste; Prismacolor pencils.
