BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS AT ANNABELLE STAMPS BLOG

50 happy birthday

It took me a while to do this card - mainly because I decided to add the box of hand cut paper to it! I followed the sketch from Card Patterns, chose the colours from Annabelle Stamps blog (raspberry, olive and orange - fab colour combo!), incorporated the a 'gift' element to it by adding a little box with note papers in it for CRAFTS blog, made it for Neils sister who is turning 50 in October and so the number 50 has been added for the challenge over at Crafts & Me, and also I am submitting it for Totally Stampalicious - 1 circle, 1 square and 1 rectangle and last but not least I have made some hand made flowers for the challenge over at Creative Card Crew.

and my little box of hand cut note papers - I love making stuff like this - I would have used post it notes but could only find them in fluro colours - now why don't they make them in more muted colours?!

Cardabilities sketch #37

Wow I can't believe it is that time of the month for the sketch from Cardabilities. Karan has created a fantastic sketch this fortnight.

Here is my take on the sketch ...

I created a window from the black dot paper and since the paper was patterned on the reverse side I just turned over the cut out squares to show the reverse of the patterned paper!

I have used my scalloped spellbinders die to create my rosette.

I haven't met a calorie ...

Well I had bit of a break late last week and over the weekend - had to go to Colac to keep Neils' mum company while his father was in hospital and I did absolutely no cards while I was there!
So as soon as I got back I quickly got into it. I made this card following the Sweet Stop Sketches, the inspiration comes from Totally Papercrafts - food and drink. The colours are from Southern Girls - black and white with one other colour (pink) and this flowed nicely with the Designed 2 Delight challenge of black and pink! I have incorporated a ribbon and bow (knot really!) for Scrapbook Boutique and also included 3 brads for Birthday Sundaes.

I like the cheekiness of this stamp set from Nostalgia 'I never met a calorie I didn't like' LOL!

Just for You

Okay this is definitely the last card for today! I am suppose to be in the craft room packing a few supplies as we are going down to Neils' parents for a few days - well I ended up making yet another card! I was looking around the Moxie Fab blog and came across the Tuesday Trigger - now normally the photo they put up doesn't trigger anything with me! but when I saw this one literally sparks flew, light bulbs illuminated and fireworks exploded!!! Not only did I like the dress but instantly I was attracted to the curved layers and thought I could make a dress like that!

At first I thought I could also use similar colours in the papers but then I thought that Secret Crafter had a great challenge this week that I wanted to do so I decided to incorporate their challenge of black and white and came up with the following card.

I have cut circles out of various black and white paper and layered them just like the dress. The bodice of the dress is a stamp from Lawn Fawn 'swimsuit season'. To hide the join between the 2 I created a black belt and applied liquid pearls to it.

I loved how the card turned out and might make another one but use more colours.

I had so much fun making this card - Paper Playtime and Party Time Tuesdays both had water challenges this week and I don't have alot of stamp images that incorporates this so I decided that I would have a go at creating my own 'water' scene.
I made my little fishes out of circle dies and added the tail and lips. Using the sketch from Sketch Saturday I thought I would make it a 'love' card!

I created a little underwater theme where I handcut some seaweed and ocean floor out of patterned paper. I cut small hearts out of Sassafras lass paper and used them as air bubbles. What I love most about this image are the 'googly eyes' on the fish!

aka Happy Birthday to you

Hi there - I managed 2 cards so far this morning! A nice quick easy one for either a child or an adult that is laid back! I made it following the sketch from Paper Sundaes. The theme is animals for There's magic in the air with cupcakes and straight lines for Top Tip Tuesdays.

The frog stamp is one of the very first stamps I bought (all those years ago) and even the title stamp is just as old!
