Next stop ... 79

LOL one of the joys about having my family living in NZ is that if I want to online shop there I can have the order delivered to my family home address.  Although not a great idea if I need something in a hurry.  I have recently found such an online store in NZ and since I visit the family alot I sort of take advantage of my family and order from Artfull Crafts and then have it posted to them :)
So I have made my father in law his birthday card and apparently it got there the day after his birthday so really it should have read ... "next stop ... 80" I sort off didn't factor in a public holiday hence the delay!
The card colour were chosen for the Autumn challenge over at Artfull Crafts blog.
The title is a bit cheeky but he has a great sense of humour I thought a bike is ideal for him since he rides a bike around town.
Thanks for looking.

The Stamp Spot Blog Hop

Hello all and welcome to the very first Stamp Spot Blog Hop!
I am super excited about this Easter/Kids themed blog hop so why not hop along with me (excuse the pun!)  and follow the DTs' inspirational trail of creativity and fun.

This weekend, we'd love to share with you some inspiration for this months craft challenge (kids) , and also a chance to win some awesome prizes! At each stop along the way, read the post carefully, as each blog will have a fun question for you to answer (mine is at the bottom of this post!).  Answer the question to go in the draw for the prize from each blog!

If you've come from the talented Melinda then you're on the right track, if not, head to The Stamp Spot blog, and start from the beginning!

I am not sure about you but one of my favourite foods at Easter is chocolate ... so in keeping with the themes of Easter and Kids I have made an easter treat basket ...

 and from the side ...
and a close up of the little eggs ...
These are a breeze to make - just make a little box (if you don't want to make one then maybe consider recycling one!) and then cut 2 large circles (mine are 11cm) and remove a semi circle from each to create a basket with a handle.  Decorate the front - I made little eggs hatching out of their shells, and attach the circles to the front and back of your box and most importantly fill the box with goodies!
Products used from The Stamp Spot are My Minds Eye 'a mothers love' 6x6 paper pad, white grossgrain and MFT royal leaves.

Next on the list is the lovely Cath at Do Re Mi Good luck!

Okay crafters this is it for me, but before you go answer my chosen question - What is your favourite food at Easter (apart from Chocolate!)
mmmmmmmmmmm I think mine would have to be HOT CROSS BUNS :)

my last Guest DT post for Annabelle Stamps

Hi all, today is my last post as a guest DT for Annabelle Stamps.  Alas it has to come to an end ... the call of the bitumen is calling me to cycle it :)
This fortnights challenge is a colour one ...

awesome colour combo isn't it ... so I thought for this challenge I would make a wedding card using stamps from designer flowers, daisy delights and squared posies (title)
Just visit Annabelle Stamps blog for all the details and to upload your creations.
the strip of ribbon is the luscious colour of watermelon from the shop.  To make the little flower in the center I stamped a small daisy on Shrink it, fussy cut and shrunk it using a heat tool.  The half circle borders is done by masking each layer and stamping the larger circles using dark blue ink and then their centers were filled in using the smaller circles using light blue ink.
I would like to enter this into the Cupcake Crafts challenge  - sparkle
materials used - smooth white, Kaisercraft watermelon, AC pacific cardstock; Annbelle Stamps designer flowers, daisy delights, squared posies stamps; Versamark watermark, Color Palette summer blue, Versa Color royal blue, Staz On azure blue inks; white embossing powder; Kaisercraft pearls; Aleene’s opaque shrink it; Annabelle Stamps 16mm watermelon satin trim

berry special

Hi all, it is very warm here today and I have been slaving away in the hot kitchen this morning so it is with relief that I sit here in front of my desk fan in the craft room :)
I have a card that I really enjoyed creating ... I created a stamped background of multi coloured words from Paper Smooches 'fruitastic' ... I think I have said this before but I love this set of stamps they are super fun :)
Off course my inspiration for this choice of stamps comes from the challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS

and I followed this weeks sketch from Retro Sketches #53

I have also drawn inspiration from the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays - 'wallpaper' stamp your own background.
And here is my card ...
materials used - Kaisercraft peacock cardstock, smooth white card; Echo Park 'so happy together' papers; Paper Smooches 'fruitastic' stamps; Staz On jet black ink, Versa Color canary, pacific, scarlet and violet inks; Prismacolor pencils; Provocraft swiss dot embossing folder; Carl scalloped scissors.

Magnetic School Pegs

Hi all, it has been a while since I last blogged - I have just got back from visiting the family in NZ.  Now while I was there I noticed that my sister trying to put one of the many school notices she gets up on the fridge using a magnet and it kept dropping, watching this I remembered that whenever there is a 'school' theme on blogs there are some people that embellish wooden pegs and attach magnets to the back of them and thought what a fab idea ... off course not having children I have never had the need for them but after watching my sister I just had to give them a go ... and they are a hoot to make!
Following the challenges from Southern Girls - pennants and banners, Kaboodle Doodles - anything but a card and Papertake Weekly - anything goes, I have made 2 peg ones and  a tag with 2 pinch clips at the bottom for the bigger and heavier notices that she gets ...
super cute aren't they!  Michelle over at The Stamp Spot sent me a few papers from the shop - Kaisercraft 'class of '87' so I used them.  Here is a close up of each one individually ...

materials - AC cricket, pacific, C'D tulip cardstock; Kaisercraft 'class of 87' papers; Paper Smooches 'chubby pals' stamps; Staz On jet black ink; Spellbinders standard circles large and petite scalloped circles large nesties; wooden pegs; brads; pinch clips; washi tape; Ranger liquid pearls - buttercup; Prismacolor pencils.
