Sending wishes

There is a fabulous sketch over at Inspirational Card Sketches this week and it is so easy to use that I used it as a guide for my card for the Southern Girls challenge of Green and Blue.

I have used Cosmo Cricket Pixie Licious papers, Stampendous flower vases stamps where I have stamped on patterned paper and fussy cut the images, I have applied glossy accents to the flower centers.

It was a quick and easy card to make and I love the end result. Thanks for looking.

Recipe book

I decided to make a little recipe book today to put all my favourite recipes in. So I got out the old Zutter machine and created a little book about 150mm x 110mm. I have used MME and Cosmo Cricket papers, Kazzaz cupcake stamp, I have stamped 'recipes' on my ribbon and added pearls to the cupcake icing and I decided to hang some buttons as a tag around the binding wire just to give it a more 3D feel to it - I liked the end result.

and the inside

You will notice that I have only 2 tabs of veges and sweets - although I am not a strict vegetarian I do make a lot of vegetarian meals and they generally involve following a recipe (compared to a meat meal which I can easily put together without a recipe) so I thought I would put all my favourite recipes in one book. The other category is sweets/desserts which I love more than vegetarian meals so I will put my most widely used sweet recipes in this section.
The reasoning behind this little book - I opened up my draw of recipe books and all matter of recipes on loose paper, napkins and the like fell out when I opened it!

I have based the front of the book on the sketch this week from Card Positioning Systems. It was also inspired by the challenge from Totally Stampalicious which was 'yummy food'. The colours was inspired by Lollipop Ladies challenge of ribbon candy and the use of ribbons. Funny enough one of the colours from the Lollipop Ladies challenge was yellow (MME paper which was also on of the ingredients from the sundae bar from Paper Sundaes, the other ingredients included diecuts (spellbinders) and pearls (which is on the icing of the cupcake)>

All in all I loved making this little book and it is a welcome change from a card!

Thanks for looking.

Only a few more hours until the royal wedding and I like millions of others will be watching it. I look forward to seeing all the outfits, flowers, pagentry etc - I like that sort of stuff.
Here is a wedding card made for the numerous blogs that have 'wedding' as the theme.

I have used Penny Black 'for you' stamps and have stamped the bouquet on vellum. I then flipped it over and used coloured pencils to colour the image. I have used an embossing tool on the white daisy so that the daisy is slightly raised and also it colours it white.
The sketch is from Card Patterns #112
Kaboodle Doodles #64 - wedding
Stampin' for the weekend #8 - wedding
Diecut dreams - wedding
Thanks for looking.

Celebrate ...

Just a quick card this afternoon using the sketch from Sweet Stop Sketches #104 there is also a slight spin to this weeks sketch and that is to use 'winged things' so I absolutely love making my own embellishments and I made a butterfly to represent my 'winged thing'. I have also used stamps from Penny Black 'for you' and the paper is Paper Inklings 'family' collection.

here is a close up of the butterfly on the card

and a close up of the butterfly itself

To make it I cut 2 large circles and 2 medium circles and folded them like a 'fan' in a series of mountain and valley folds then attached it altogether with a black pipe cleaner, the antennae are 2 small bling at the end of craft wire. I have embellished the butterfly with kindy glitz.
I am also using this card for the challenge from Cupcake Crafts which is layers and as you can see this card has quite a few layers and matts. I have embossed one of the papers to give more texture to the card as set out in the Paper Sundaes challenge.

Thanks for looking and happy Easter everyone.

Just hanging around ...

It was my aim this afternoon to do a card with as many challenges as I could involve on a card - I managed 4 seperate challenges from 5 different challenge blogs - I think that is my record -4 - I can't seem to get to the magic 5! It is a nice simple card and I really enjoyed creating it. I have used Stampendous 'changito the monkey' and I managed to make some of the very tiny leaves and bananas as 3D using silicone glue (used for paper tole) as I couldn't get the foam tape small enough to handle! Here it is ...
and here is a close up

I have made this card for the following blogs -

Card Patterns #111 - sketch

Card Ideas - male card

Lets' Ink It Up - stitching - faux stitching on the outside and the 2 crosses with thread

Wee Memories - 'adorable'

Secret Crafter - stitching - faux stitching on the outside and the 2 crosses with thread.

I decided since 2 of the challenge blogs involved stitching that I would try to incorporate 2 types of stitching which is a little hard for me as I can't sew to save my life (even sewing to create that 'deliberately crooked' look with a sewing machine still looks wrong when I do it!) so that is why I have done both faux stitching and the 2 crosses with thread.

Thanks for looking and have a great Easter everyone.

Mum

We are coming up to Mothers Day soon, well 2nd Sunday in May! so I thought since I won't be here over Easter that I would attempt a Mothers Day card. I followed the sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches and the challenge from Annabelle Stamps and that was to use Purple and Blue - now I didn't have much purple and blue paper but I vaguely remembered that colour combo from Cosmo Crickets Mitten Weather mini deck (yes Christmas papers!!!) and I thought the combo of purple and light blue went quite nicely! Here is the result.
I have used See Dees stamps, Mitten Weather (Cosmo Cricket) papers, circle scalloped nesties and liquid pearls.

Thanks for looking.

Easter baskets!

Tonight Neils' cousin and her husband are coming over so I decided to make them little easter basket each and fill them up with some small eggs. I made the baskets from scratch and as per usual didn't follow any template and just winged it! I am happy with how they turned out and had an absolute ball making them ... it is a nice change from cards. I have made them for the Lollipop Ladies challenge blog with the inspiration for the colours coming from their photos and off course Easter with some sparkle/glitter.

I have used Paper Inklings 'family' papers, the 'so tweet' stamp comes from Imaginisce, I have used kindy glitz on the handle and around the edging of the title.

Thanks for looking.

Make a Wish

Whenever I make a card for a boy I always think about what my youngest nephew would like. He is 11 years old and somehow I think that he is now getting a little too old for child cards and I will have to start thinking about 'teen' cards for him ... oh no!!! anyway I made this card for a child following the challenge set down by Card Ideas challenge blog and also Simon Says.

I have also followed the fabulous sketch from over at Card Positioning Systems #213 and have done a little paper piecing (the balloons) for the Crafty Creations challenge blog. I dug down deep in my paper stash to find this oldie but goodie from Sassafras Lass. Not sure on the penguin stamp (picked it up from some local store and there is no brand name on it!) but the balloon stamp is a stampworld one! Thanks for looking.

This card is made for the following blog challenges

Card Patterns - sketch #110

Kaboodle Doodles - cute animals (the mouse is from Inky Antics Teacup Mousies #2 stamp set)

Cupcake craft - make a get well card

Totally Stampalicious - anything goes! Thanks for looking.

Box of treats!

I had so much fun making this little box of chocolates! I love making a box from scratch and making little minor adjustments here and there to suit me ... like cutting a window in the lid and covering it with acetate so you can see the little chocolate goodies inside!

I have used papers and diecut are from Kaisercraft 'Offshore' collection, Ferngully chick stamp and the little easter eggs are just hand cut from scrap card and covered with kindy glitz.

I made it to take up with me to the Gold Coast for the family ... but I am thinking that it might not last the week out and may just arrive EMPTY!!!

Anyway I have made this for the following challenge blogs - Simon Says Stamp - easter/spring colours and Scrapbook Boutique - Easter

Thanks for looking and have a great week everyone.

Just 4 You

I seem to be on a cardmaking frenzy at the moment especially male cards ... I know what is going to happen I will have all these male cards and no one to give them too! But here is another one.
I have made this card for 3 challenge blogs - Southern Girls - this fortnight they had a sketch to follow. Also Annabelle Stamps Blog - which was to incorporate a banner - so I used my Carl primitive heart punch and Carolee Creations tiny alphas to create the banner. And last but not least Wee Memories - use twine - which was used to hang up the banner.

Thanks for looking.

Lil' Easter goodies!

2 weeks from today and I shall be in the Gold Coast spending the Easter with my family from NZ - there will be 6 of us there. Normally we are not big celebraters of Easter but I decided to make little easter egg treat bags for us all - namely for my Nephew who absolutely hates the fact that I 'do crafting' as he calls it - but I know he is going to love these little goodies bags and I am thinking of hiding them all so he can run around trying to find them! I have used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems (#212) to make tags for each bag. And off course the theme follows the challenge from Lets' ink it up - which is a blog that I stumbled across by googling a brand of stamps that I was looking for! I have used chick stamp from Ferngully stamps, Sassafras Lass papers, carolee creations alpha stickers, the egg I have hand drawn. Thanks for looking.

To You From Me

I was suppose to be finishing off cleaning out the craft room but the thought of sorting out paper and card didn't appeal to me as much as using paper and card today! So here is a card I made following the sketch from Mojo Mondays #185 and a close up ...
I have used Penny Black 'to you' stamps, My Minds Eye Stella & Rose Gertie papers, Spellbinders scalloped circle die and My Favourite Things Edged scalloped die.

Thanks for looking.

Hello!

I am in the process of the dreaded task of clearing out the craft room - over the years I have collected 'stuff' and for some of it I haven't used in quite a while so I decided to downsize my pile and this morning it was the job of sorting out my stamp collection - It is surprising just how you forget you actually have some stamps ... lets just say there was a lot of 'oh yeah I have that ...' today while cleaning up! Here is one stamp that I found in my pile but for the life of me I have no idea where it came from.
I have used Jillibean Soup 'Blossom soup' papers and BG papers.

This card has been made for the following challenges:

Paper Sundaes - Spring blossoms

Wee Memories - favourite colours (definitely aqua, brown and pink at the moment!)

Lollipop Ladies - macaroon colours and add gloss (added glossy accents to the stamped image)

Thanks for looking!

Smiles!

I sneeked into the craft room this afternoon - it is starting to become cool during the days now so it is nice being inside warm rather than spending it outside in the sun! I made this card and I have used Cosmo Cricket Pixie-Licious papers, Core 'dinations card stock and Annabelle Stamps - Stemmed flowers.

I have stamped flower heads on patterned paper, fussy cut them, curled them and applied glossy accents to them. I like stamping on patterned paper instead of colouring them in - it is a lazy way I know but effective!

I have followed a sketch from Sassy Lil' Card sketches (March 28 reveal) and I have also used the criteria from over at Annabelle Stamps blog - say it with purple and orange - I must admit I did end up liking this colour combo.

Thanks for looking.

Another birthday card!

I think I am beginning to like the colour combo of light aqua, dark brown and kraft as this is the 2nd card in a row using that colour combo - I love it! I made this card following the sketch from Annabelle Stamps blog and used the inspiration photos from Jay Gees Nook Blog which included these colours and balloons (I like hot air balloons!).
I have used Bo Bunny flutter butter paper, Verve Up Up & Away stamps and kraft cardstock.

Thanks for looking.

Happy 'Baa'thday

I managed to squeeze in another card last night before settling down to watch footy on TV! For this one I have made a stock birthday card - a male one at that!
I enjoy using these Barn and sheep stamps from Ferngully Stamps and I have made the rickety fence out of match sticks and very thin pliable wire. The 'Happy Baathday' is just hanging on the fence.

I have made this card following the challenges set by:

Southern Girls - animals
Wee memories - anything goes
thanks for looking and have a great weekend.
