It is my brother in laws birthday early next month and at the moment he is on bit of a 'exercise/running' kick so I thought a card featuring something 'fitness' would suit him. Now not having anything crafty in 'fitness' in nature I really had to think laterally and came up with this ...
it is a slider card and you pull on the ribbon to reveal an image ...
LOL - the 'mr blob' is from The Alley Way Stamps 'gotta bug' stamp set and I paper pieced an outfit for him as well as a sweat band, added a few sweat drops to make him look like he has been excercising! Off course the title is my own and I painstakingly stamped it using MFT mini banner day alphabet stamps.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Kaboodle Doodles - stripes &/or circles, Papertake Weekly Challenges - paper piecing and Southern Girls 'going spotty dot!'
materials used - AC leaf, Canson Smooth white, aqua blue cardstock; Jillibean Soup 'spotted owl soup' papers; Washi tape; Spellbinders sprightly sprockets dies; The Alley Way Stamps 'gotta bug?' stamps, MFT mini banner day alphabet stamps; Staz On jet black ink; Prismacolor pencils; brads; 10mm green grosgrain; Carl corner punch.
Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday Neil
May is one of the birthday months for me - and the first is my darling partner Neil. I teamed up with the designer drafts challenge from Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge blog, used elements from CAS-ual Fridays Tic Tac Toe - polka dots, kraft and punches/dies and made a male birthday card for The Pink Elephant.
I actually rotated the sketch 180 degrees and used the 3 trees to represent my banner ends element. The 2 small arrows are actually from the chat bubbles stamp set - I stamped and clear embossed them and then fussy cut them.
materials used - kraft cardstock, Kaisercraft forest cardstock; Simple Stores 'family ties', Jillibean Soup 'sweet and sour' papers; Paper Smooches spring groves, chat bubbles (arrows) and alphadot stamps; Staz On timber brown, Versamark watermark ink; Color Palette summer blue ink; Clear embossing powder; Prismacolor pencils; MFT notebook edge die; CC Design grass border die.
Thanks for looking.

Mum, You're so Special
So many challenge blogs this week has the Mothers Day theme so I made yet another card for Mothers Day and I kick myself I didn't create this earlier in the week (before I posted my mothers day card off to my Mum) as this is perfect for my Mum who lives in NZ :)
The miles away quote is quite apt for my Mum but I didn't consider it until I created this card :(
I have followed this weeks sketch from Mojo Mondays #292 ...
The Mothers Day theme is for the following: Party Time Tuesday, The Pink Elephant and Kaboodle Doodles Challenge blog; Anything goes for Papertake Weekly and AnnaBelle Stamps blogs and use a sentiment for The Southern Girls Challenge blog.
materials used - Bazzill vanilla, leapfrog cardstock, Francheville pink textured paper; Unknown rose paper; AnnaBelle Stamps ballerina rose and designer flowers, Kaisercraft script background stamps; Staz On timber brown and Versa Color old rose inks; Prismacolor pencils; fabric lace; Paper Inklings doily; pearl strips; Spellbinders standard circles large and petite scalloped circles large nesties, Provocraft circle dies.
Thanks for looking.

A little something just for you
Top Tip Tuesday has a fantastic challenge this week - moving parts ... basically something on the card has to move, open, pop up etc. I love making interactive and mechanical cards. So today I created this window card for either my mother or Neils' mother for mothers day later on this month.
This is the card with the shutters closed ...
when you open them they reveal a window and you can see through to the inside of the card ...
and inside the card is a room scene ...
so basically the front of the card is the outside of the brick house and the window looks through to inside the house.
To create the primula blooms I die cut the individual flowers and then used applied an embossing tool to the back of each flower so that they curl and bend and then layered them.
I would also like to enter this into the 'anything goes' challenge over at Party Time Tuesday and Crafty Creations challenge - mothers day with flowers.
materials used - Kaisercraft avocado, coffee bean, mineral, olive card; Simple Stories 'family ties' pprs; Versa Color black ink; AnnaBelle Stamps 'squared posies', Hero Arts 'wish you were here' stamps; Memory Box small madison window and shutter, small flower box, primula blooms dies; Sizzix Tim Holz bricked embossing folder; Carl scalloped scissors; Acetate; Francheville journalling pen black; Kaisercraft pearls, gold rhinestones.

You are Sweet
Last night I had a mini craft night in the craft room, since Neil is up country looking after his folks I am at home with Kouta and there was nothing on TV I decided to create a card following this weeks sketch from Mojo Mondays #291
I have used washi tape instead of patterned papers on this card for the challenge over at The Pink Elephant and have used Paper Smooches stamps for the anything goes challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge blogspot.
materials used - Kaisercraft coconut, Core'dinations sunflower yellow, American Crafts robins egg, Canson smooth red and white cardstock; Washi tape; Paper Smooches 'fruitastic' and 'welcome spring' stamps; Staz On jet black ink; Spellbinders standard circles large and petite scalloped circles large nesties; 7mm split ring; 6mm yellow satin trim; Ranger liquid pearls ruby red and buttercup.
