Woohoo happy birthday
Lately I seem to have an obsession with owl stamps - especially the one from Paper Smooches 'cubby chums' - It think because it is easy and fun to color :)
here is a close up ...
I made this card following the photo inspiration from Paper Smooches Sparks -
I think I was drawn to the pink and white chequered paper! I used an owl as my image for both challenges at CRAFT and Cupcake Crafts and followed the sketch from The Pink Elephant.
materials - white cardstock, C'D sunrise orchid; Basic Grey 'sultry', Echo Park 'country drive', Cosmo Cricket 'mitten weather', Fancy Pants 'baby mine' papers; Paper Smooches 'chubby chums' and 'spring groves', AnnaBelle Stamps 'party animals 1' (happy birthday title), Unknown chequered background stamp; Versa Color black and orchid inks; MFT wavy banners; Crayola pencils; Liquid pearls white opal and ruby red.
Thanks for looking and enjoy the weekend.
Big birthday wishes
Sometimes when completing a card ... you look at the time that it takes you to make it and sometimes it is only 15 minutes and you begin to think ... no there has to be more to this card ... it is not good enough (even though you like the look of it!) You start to wonder how can you have satisfaction in a card when it only takes you 15 minutes? Honestly this was one of those cards ... it just came together very easy ... in fact too easy for my liking that I did doubt that it was good enough! but in truth I actually like this card the elements came together nicely ... mind you the sketch from Card Positioning Systems and the theme from Top Tip Tuesdays - stars and stripes helped!
materials - AC blue jay cardstock, Bazzill pear cardstock, C'D brownie cardstock; Kaisercraft 'lone ranger' papers; AnnaBelle Stamps 'boys party'; Brilliance coffee bean, Versa Magic night sky ink; AnnaBelle cuts by design shapes 1 die; Spellbinders standard circle large nesties; glossy accents; white gel pen

Diaper card
Hi ya all, I didn't manage to post this yesterday evening (ran out of time!) so I will do it now.
One of my sisters is pregnant and is due soon, I have already made a card for her and the new baby and I wanted to make another baby card just for her other son Caleb ... my nephew who is 12. I was chatting to another sister the other day who mentioned a conversation she had with Caleb and it goes something along the lines of Caleb saying that he is not getting up at 2am in the morning to change the babies 'pooey' diapers and that he can't do it as he has other important things going on like school, rugby league, kidsville etc ... so this just cracked me up and we all had a good chuckle at his expense (unbeknownst to him :) What grabbed us all in this conversation was the fact that he used the word 'diapers' now here (down under and NZ) we call it a 'nappy' ... so obviously he watches too much 'the simpsons'! But this conversation did inspire me to make a 'diaper' card especially for him ...
I tried to make it as 'teenage' as possible ... but the tabs open and inside is a tag and also the 2nd part that continues on from 'yo bro' ...
LOL and here is a young teenager saying "I don't do diapers" which is suppose to represent Caleb and then the little bee is ME saying "neither do I" and then I provided a list of names for him to call if he ever finds himself in a 'pooey diaper' scenario! ...
now the list is in order to ring and if the top one is not available he is to ring the next person on the list. It is rather funny because before he rings me (I am in Australia while he is in NZ) he will have to deal with the nappy himself!
I enjoyed making this card because it is so specific to a person and I am sure, with his sense of humour, he will understand that it is meant to be funny ... it is hard to tell with teenagers :)
I am submitting this card for Party Time Tuesdays - anything goes and Crafty Creations - embellish it, use at least 3 embellishments ... even for a boy card I managed to embellish it with brads, flowers, rhinestones, ribbon and twine ... just in small amounts!!!
materials - Bazzill dark sky cardstock, light blue card; Jillibean Soup 'spotted owl soup' papers; Marianne design 'snoesjes boy with cat' stamp, Studo g 'bee' stamp, Paper Smooches 'alphadot' stamp, MFT 'mini banner day alphabet' stamps; Staz On jet black ink, Versa Color black ink, Brilliance rocket red ink; Crayola pencils; Bazzill brads; Carl scallop scissors; heart eyelet 3/16"; velcro; ribbon; flowers; Kaisercraft rhinestones; MFT chat bubbles.
Thanks for looking.

happy birthday slider box
Hi All, I was browsing through the Splitcoast Stampers Newsletter (#317) and there was a tutorial on slider boxes and I thought how cool was that! So reading through the instructions etc. I thought yup I can do that with a few modifications as it is all in inches and I am a "metric girl". I have made slider cards before so it is along the same principle ... in the end it turned out quite good I thought and alot easier than what I had anticipated ... here is the view looking down on it ...
a view from the side ...
and here is the box opened - basically you pull open the box and a message tab shoots out from the opposite direction!
I have made this for this weeks challenge over at AnnaBelle Stamps blog - say it in "grey, blue & artichoke"
and I have followed the sketch over at The Sketchy Challenges blog
materials - AC blue jay and olive cardstock, black, grey and metallic white cardstock; AnnaBelle Stamps 'square posies' and 'background by design 2' stamps; Staz On jet black, Versa Color frost white, bamboo, Versa Magic night sky inks; Crayola pencils; MFT small rolled roses; Kaisercraft pearls; Spellbinders standard circles large nesties; Ranger white opal liquid pearls; black 3/16" flower eyelet, black satin trim.

Recycle your age
Hi ya all, a quick clean and simple card that I made this morning following the sketch from Retro Sketches, incorporating a here comes summer theme - cycling (mind you I cycle all year round here!) for Cute Card Thursdays and including some pink for CAS-ual Fridays.
The other day I found this cute Cheery Lynn Designs little pink bicycle die (it is 3" x 2" in size) in The Stamp Spot online store and I so loved it that I just knew it had to go in the shopping basket ... even Neil was excited about the die since we are both very keen cyclists (and collect everything and anything bicycle orientated!). I loved making this card and said to Neil that he can give it to me on my next birthday :)
materials - C'D sunrise orchid cardstock, white, grey and black card; Jillibean Soup 'blossom soup' papers; Practicing Creativity Designs 'the whole cycle' stamps, MFT mini banner day alphabet stamps; Versa Color black ink; Cheery Lynn Designs little pink bicycle die, MFT wavy pennants, Spellbinders sprightly sprockets and standard circles large; paper flowers, Ranger white opal liquid pearls; Fiskars round the bend punch.

The Stamp Spot DT - smooches
Woohoo! it's the weekend and today is my turn to post at The Stamp Spot blog.
I enjoy making little scenes with stamps and dies and using MFT woodgrain fence and flat bottom clouds I teamed it up with Paper Smooches 'chubby chums' and 'spring groves' (which can be purchased from The Stamp Spot) to make this cute little card ...
I loosely based this card on the sketch from Feeling Sketchy - unfortunately the cow wasn't quite big enough to represent the rectangle in the sketch! but you sort of get the idea of it!
It is a great sketch to use and is very versatile. One thing that really inspired me about this sketch is the position of the 'sentiment' on the sketch - I created a little sign 'xoxox' in a frame and hung it on my fence!
materials - AC pacific cardstock, Kraft cardstock, white cardstock; Cosmo Cricket 'tea for 2' papers; Paper Smooches 'chubby chums', 'spring groves'; Staz On jet black ink; MFT flat bottom clouds and woodgrain fence dies; Quickutz polka dot embossing folder; charcoal twine; Kaiser ice blue bling; crystallina kindy glitz.
Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of the weeeknd.

Baby boy
Woohoo the rain has finally stopped! the sun is shining so I shall show you the card I made this morning and then go for looooooooooong walk to stretch the legs!
Southern Girls and Crafty Creations have 'baby' challenges this fortnight/week so I decided to make a baby card. It must be karma as my youngest sister is due to have a baby mid August and according to the scans it is a boy ... I made her this pram shaped card ...
I have made several of these cards (both boy and girl) and this is the first where I have remembered to put in the inserts inside the card before scoring and attaching the front and back together :)
I would also like to enter this to the Creative Card Crew blog whose challenge is 1:2:3 .... mine are 1 tag, 2 colours (blue and white) and 3 buttons.
materials - AC blue jay cardstock, white cardstock, C'D Klondike blue cardstock; Making Memories 'fresh anthology - sydney' papers; Versa Color black, Versa Magic night sky ink; Verve 'to the moon' stamps; Shamrock heart buttons; white organza; Spellbinders - Sprightly Sprockets, Standard circle large and Petite scallop circles large dies, MFT little open scalloped edge; Ranger white opal liquid pearls; Silicone Sealant.

Woohoo! Paper Smooches Sparks challenge
Okay a quick Clean and Simple card this afternoon ... I was inspired by the 'cool shades' challenge over at Paper Smooches Sparks blog ... in fact I saw the colours chosen and then the fab DT cards and thought wow they really pulled of this odd colour combo ... so I thought I would challenge myself this afternoon using these colours ...
following this weeks sketch over at Card Positioning Systems I made this card ...
as I was making the card I wasn't quite sure how the colours would go once everything was stuck down ... I have to say I LUUUUUUUUUUUUUURVE this colour combo ... I was pleasantly surprised that they co-ordinated so well together :)
materials - white cardstock, C'D dutchess and sunflower cardstock; Cosmo Cricket 'mitten weather', Jillibean Soup 'blossom soup' papers; Paper Smooches 'chubby chums' stamps; Staz On jet black ink; Crayola pencils; MFT branch with leaves die; white mini ric rac.

UR Tweet
Howdy folks, it is a wet miserable day here in Melbourne it has been raining non stop since last night sometime :(
Perfect to stay put and in the craftroom so I made this card following this weeks sketch from Sketch Saturday, the bird theme comes from Pixie Dust Studio, I have used very summery inspired colours for Through the Craftroom Door - summer challenge and I dug out my rather extensive (but neglected) stack of eyelets for the challenge over at Cupcake Crafts - eyelets. Here is my card ...
materials - white cardstock, Bazzill wildberry cardstock; 3 Bugs in a Rug 'summer days' paper; Robins Festish 'a little birdie told me' digital stamp; Paper Smooches 'chubby chums' and 'alphadot' stamps (titles); Versa Colour black ink; Crayola pencils; MFT chat bubbles die; Carl corner punch; Creative Works decorative edge punch; Ranger liquid pearls; 1/8" yello eyelets.

A little something just for you
It has been a few days since I have been in the craftroom and managed to get in here this morning! I enjoyed making this floral card and drew inspiration from a few challenge sites - the floral theme comes from Quirky Crafts - handmade flowers and ribbon, what I did with the flowers comes from AnnaBelle Stamps - paper piecing, what I used came from Papertake Weekly Challenge - bingo and I used ribbon, diecut and button, I followed the sketch from Card Patterns #170 and included embossing for Crafty Catz. Here is my card ...
for my handmade flower I stamped AnnaBelle Stamps 'daisy delights' on patterned papers (2 medium and 1 small), fussy cut all removing some petals from the 2nd medium and smallest flower, applied a broad tip embossing tool to the back of each flower so it curls and assembled togther with silicone sealant beneath the petals so that when the flower dries it still maintains its curvature even through the posting process! (using foam tape it tends to flatten out once it gets to its' final destination in the post) here is a close up ...
... an another showing the curvature - I even curved the 2 leaves and again used silicone sealant so that the curves in the leaves don't flatten out.
materials - wheat card, C'D dutchess cardstock; Cosmo Cricket 'tea for 2' papers; AnnaBelle Stamps 'daisy delights' and 'squared posies' (title); Staz On timber brown ink; MFT little open scalloped edge die; Quickutz polka dot embossing folder; Ranger white opal liquid pearls; Shamrock buttons; AnnaBelle Stamps natural cord; Twill - natural; silicone sealant.

berry cherry christmas
This is the first of my christmas cards for this year! I was out walking yesterday afternoon and I was mulling over in my head how I was going to tackle the sketch from Paper Smooches SPARKS designer drafts sketch this week ... so I am mulling it over and I had the idea that I wanted to use the Fruitastic stamp set (I don't own too many PS stamp sets!) and then all of a sudden it hit me why not make it into a Christmas card ... you would think that it is not exactly 'christmassy' but down here in the Southern hemisphere our Christmas is in summer and berries and cherries are in season and are a common occurrance on the christmas table (especially cherries you could say they are our christmas fruit) so this card is perfect for christmas :)
and no I haven't mispelt 'cheery' I deliberately wanted it as 'cherry' because of the cherries!
materials - black and white cardstock, Bazzill romance; Paper Smooches fruitastic and alphadot stamps, MFT christmas ornament stamp set; Staz On jet black ink; Crayola colouring pencils; Ranger white opal liquid pearls; Carl scallop scissors; Creative Imaginations ribbon

Fish whisperer - fathers day
It must be fathers day soon out there in blog land as a lot of the challenge sites had masculine as their theme this week ... here in Australia fathers day is early September ... but I like to plan ahead and get in early and make fathers day cards now! (I also have my first christmas card of the year to post up after this one ... so how ahead do I wish to get? :)
I have used a Bugaboo digital stamp for this card (fish whisperer) ... I really enjoyed making this card and creating a 2nd title for it ... I know my father is going to love this image as he is a keen fisherman (mainly fishing from a kayak) and he is either not all that great at it ... or they get away ... because he always has to buy his fish in tins :)
I have followed the sketch from Sketch Saturdays, made it a fathers day card for Secret Crafter, a masculine card for The Pink Elephant and CRAFT and also 'one for the boys' for There's magic in the air with Cupcakes. I would also like to submit it for the challenge over at Pixie Dust Studio - 3 plus patterned papers.
materials - C'D blue moss cardstock; Cosmo Cricket 'tea for 2' papers, Sei 'holly lane' papers; Bugaboo digital stamp 'fish whisperer'; Paper Smooches 'alphadot' stamp, MFT 'mini banner day' alpha stamps; Versa Color black and bamboo inks; MFT bracket tab die; Crayola colouring pencils; buttons; green cord.

Baby girl pram card
Hi all, today was my turn to present my card at The Stamp Spot blog. Although we don't have any children I get an absolute kick out of making baby cards and childrens cards - for some strange reason I really enjoy making them and todays card is no exception ... it is a pram card (which is very easy to make - click HERE for my tutorial with photos)
I would like to enter this card for the challenge over at Papertake Weekly Challenge blog whose theme this week is a 3-2-1 for my card it is 3 dies, 2 buttons and 1 tag. And also Creatilacious challenges which has a bingo board and I chose flowers (on the paper), not a square card and buttons.
materials - C’D aged wine, amarylis cardstock; Cosmo Cricket ‘tea for 2' 6x6 pad; Verve ‘to the moon’ stamps; Versa Color magenta ink; Spellbinders - standard circles large nesties, petite scalloped circles large nesties, MFT - little open scalloped edge; buttons; Ranger white opal liquid pearls; 10mm pink grossgrain; double sided tape; mounting tape; silicone sealant.thanks for looking.

True love wedding cake card
Good morning to everyone, last night I decided to have a go at the photo inspiration challenge over at Jay Gees Blog and as soon as I saw the last photo of the photo board I knew I had to make a wedding cake card :) Which also went hand in hand with this weeks challenge over at Crafty Creations - wedding/anniversary. I included 2 little love birds for Southern Girls challenge of things with wings and followed the 3 in a row guide from Magic in the Air with Cupcakes blog (punches, ribbon and 2 plus patterned papers), here is my card ...
here is Jay Gees photo inspiration board ...
I was a little worried when I saw the first photos - I thought crikey I'm going to have to do a male card (which I find I have to be in the mood for making those!) and then I saw the colours squares and I love aqua green and yellow together and then that wonderful cake ... sighing!
materials for this card - AC robins egg cardstock, DCWV 'the spring fling' cardstock stack; DCWV 'the spring fling' papers, Teresa Collins 'spring fling' papers; Staz On jet black ink; Bo Bunny crush clear stamps; Ranger white opal liquid pearls; white organza trim; MFT small open scalloped edge.

juice 4 U
Thought I would take a break from cards and I made a little tag for the challenge over at Cupcake Crafts, tags are great to use up your paper scraps. I also made it for the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge - patterned prints. I have to admit I loved making this little tag using Paper Smooches 'fruitastic' stamps. They are so versatile and also the 'alphadot' stamp set is great to create your own unique title ... hence 'juice 4 u' :)
here is a close up of the fruit sitting in the fruit bowl ...
materials - C'D aquamarine cardstock, wheat card, Bazzill apricot card; MME 'Stella & Rose' gertie papers; Paper Smooches 'fruitastic' and 'alphadot' stamps; Versa Color black ink; Ranger white opal liquid pearls; Fiskars round the bend punch; Making Memories 1/8" eyelets; Celebrate orange and white gingham.
Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
miss you
Hello there I hope your weekend is going great ... we have a long weekend here in Australia (Queens' birthday) and it is not exactly great weather except to be inside at a craft table!
I have made a 2nd card for the Paper Smooches Sparks trend watch challenge this week and this time I paid attention to the words and explanation of the challenge and realised that the challenge is based on patterned paper! I have a love of polka dots so I stamped polka dots from Paper Smooches 'alphadot' stamp set for the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays and the card is based on the sketch from Feeling sketchy blog.
here is a close up - I have stamped chair, table, lamp (I used the vase and flipped it upside down!) and wall hangings on patterned paper and created a little corner room scene materials - white cardstock, AC pacific cardstock; Jillibean Soup 'sweet & sour' papers, MLSB papers; Paper Smooches 'vogue abode' and 'alphadot' stamps; Versa Color opera pink, topaz, black inks, Brilliance pearlescent sky blue ink; Spellbinders standard circles large and petite scalloped circles large.

Enjoy the Ride
And here is my 2nd card for today - I followed the sketch from Mojo Mondays, the theme is from Creative Card Crew - inspired by a song (mine is The Beatles - ticket to ride) and I have included a bit of sparkle (on the ferris wheel and on the edging of the striped paper) for Top Tip Tuesdays and Party Time Tuesdays.
here is a close up of the ferris wheel - I stamped and fussy cut out the center piece and attached it to acetate, I then mounted it on paper with a brad (hidden behind the middle circle) so that it spins.
materials - AC sand cardstock; Basic Grey 'hello luscious' papers; Staz On jet black ink; Lawn Fawn 'admit one' stamps; Acetate; Colouring pencils; Kaisercraft rhinestones; natural cord; glossy accents; zig zag scissors.
Thanks for looking.
Sending hugs your way
Had a very productive day today - I managed to finish 2 cards. Here is the first following the weekly challenge over at AnnaBelle Stamps blog - paper pieRcing and also for AnnaBelles' Stamp, Embellish and Create community monthly challenge - shapes (use dies and punches) and I also managed to make it as a Topical Tuesday - monochromatic. I have followed this weeks sketch from Card Patterns ...
I don't normally do paper pieRcing (piecing - YES!) so I diecut a labels 18 and embossed it and pierced the embossed line around the label with a needle. The flower I coloured with colouring pencils and cut out and attached to the label.
materials - White cardstock; Cosmo Cricket 'pixie-licious' papers; Spellbinders labels 18; Creative Memories circle cutters; Carl scallop scissors; AnnaBelle Stamps 'squared posies' stamps; Staz On jet black ink; Prima sienna ink; orange grosgrain; button; Kaisercraft pearls; flowers.

You are berry sweet
here is the 2nd card from this afternoon - I have based it on the challenge over at Paper Smooches Sparks blog - this week is trend watch ...
... I was drawn to the colours from the 2nd line - brown, fuschia pink and green - I was a bit off with the green I think! and the theme of my card is Letters for the CAS challenge this week at Split Coast Stampers.
I have used old chipboard letters as my stencil for the word 'sweet' and traced around them on the edge of my card and cut them out leaving the top part of each letter attached to the card. The 'you are berry' is Paper Smooches 'alphadot' stamps and the strawberries is from 'fruitastic' set. I love the alphadot set as that gives me the freedom to create any title I like!
materials - AC coffee card, Bazzill hot pink card; C'D kiwi card; Paper Smooches 'alphadot' and 'fruitastic' stamp sets; Chipboard letters; Pizzazz Aplenty fuschia pearls; Heidi Swapp trim; Inkssentials glossy accents; Staz On timber brown, ColorBox frosty white inks.
Thanks for looking.
Thinking of You
2 quick CAS cards this afternoon - last week I made a kraft, turquoise and white card and I loved the colours that I repeated that combo again for this card but I went a bit darker with the turquoise ...
I have made it for the bling challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays, included circles for Crafty Creations and the theme is for Hero Arts June challenge - thinking of someone.
materials - Bazzill kraft card; AC Jade card; smooth white card; Hero Arts 'untitled love' and 'say it all' stamps; Staz On timber brown, Versa Color pacific inks; Kaisercraft aqua marine bling; Spellbinders standard circle large nesties; Creative Memories circle cutters; Carl scallop scissors; Ranger white opal liquid pearls.

The Stamp Spot DT - hello card
Good morning everyone and welcome to my first official post as part of the DT for The Stamp Spot. I will be creating 3 projects using products that can be found in the shop for The Stamp Spot blog this month.
I have to suggest to all you crafters out there that if you are not on the mailing list the for The Stamp Spot ... then I suggest you should join - because Michelle sends regular deals and specials only for the 'mailing' list group and they can be absolutely fab deals!
This month the June Challenge Spots are yellow, buttons and grosgrain ribbon ...
I managed to include all 3 of the spots ... . For this “hello” card I have created a scene using the super cute CC Designs ‘cute birgitta’ stamp ... it sort of has a ‘Sound of Music’ type feel to it :) As you can see in the close up I have made tiny wee bows out of 3mm grossgrain - I had to use a household fork to make those bows!
here is a close up of the little cutie ...
I have coloured in cute birgitta using marvy pens and a blender as well as paper piecing her overalls and shoes.
Here is a list of materials (some of which can be found in the store) - C’D blue moss, AC white card; Cosmo Cricket ‘tea for 2' 6x6 pad, watercolour paper; CC Designs ‘cute birgitta’, ‘stone wall’ stamps; AnnaBelle stamps ‘squared posies’ (title) stamp; StazOn jet black ink; Marvy and Tombow pens, Dove blender pen; 3mm grossgrain; buttons; Spellbinders ‘standard circles large’ dies; MFT ‘flat bottom clouds’ dies; Provocraft cuttlebug ‘swiss dots’ embossing folder.
I would like to submit it for the 'anything goes' challenge at Party Time Tuesday and 'circles' challenge at Crafty Creations.
Thanks for looking.

You're the Best
Hi all, bit a flat day when it came to cardmaking today - it was (and still is) a miserable day outside and the rain has now set in. My first card of the day was an absolute flop and this is my second - which I have to say is not normally my style of using premade flowers (I tend to make my own!) but I got these Prima flowers in a prize pack and I thought I would try to use them ... now also in this prize pack I got some blue skeleton leaves ... do you remember those ... I haven't seen them in ages! And it came to me the other day to use them and try to make a butterfly ... well here it is :)
these are 1" leaves and were a little bit so I trimmed and squeezed the ends to give the wings a little body to them ...
I was quite happy with the way the butterfly turned out ... it just goes to show don't throw anything away ... ever ... because there comes a day when you will think of a use for them, as I know I threw some out years ago :)
So this card is made following the sketch from Card Positioning Systems. The theme is from Hero Arts 'thinking of you', the butterfly is inspired by the challenge from Quirky Crafts 'up up & away' anything that is related to the sky (a butterfly flies!!!) and also for Party Time Tuesdays and Secret Crafter which both have anything goes this week.
materials - C'D blue moss card; Cosmo Cricket 'tea for 2' papers and s.e.i pear paper; Hero Arts 'sending smiles message' stamps; ColorBox chesnut roan chalk; Sen Plus blue 1" skeleton leaves; Kaisercraft chino pearls; Prima innoscence collection flowers; Ranger white opal liquid pearls; Carl corner punch.
