The Lollipop Ladies have a very fun challenge this fortnight and at first I thought OMGoodness it is a multicolour challenge - now I feel I struggle with too many colours but I love a challenge and using the sketch from The Sweet Stop I came up with the card below.

I have used a combo of papers to get the colours for the Licorice allsorts inspiration challenge from the Lollipop Ladies blog - these include Cosmos cricket and Basic Grey. I have used Verve Up, Up and Away stamps and have applied bling to the hot air balloons and glossy accents to the hot air balloon baskets and clouds.

Resist Embossing card

Okay I dusted off the ole brayer to do this card for Annabelle Stamps Blog. I also followed the sketch from over at Cardabilities #22.

It has been a while since I have used a brayer and I remember when I first bought it along with a few of the Kaleidacolor ink pads to do this technique. I have stamped 3 butterflies on white cardstock using watermark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then applied a heat tool to the butterflies and have then rolled the brayer on a kaleidacolor berry blaze ink pad and rolled it over the white cardstock. I let the ink dry and then wiped the butterfly images to remove the ink. I love this technique and would like to thank the Annabelle Stamps blog for making this this weeks challenge - it is great redoing old techniques!

ICS #98

I had to make an adult male card this week for someone who is turning 21 and unfortunately I my mind tends to go blank when it comes to male cards (not that I make feminine cards!) but flowers and bees just didn't seem to be right. So I looked through my collection and I found this Changito Monkey set from Stampendous and decided to do a cheeky 21st birthday card!

I followed the sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches #98. A great sketch to use.

The papers are from Kaiser Pina Colada Collection. I made the banana tree trunk by just sketching it on brown cardstock and then segmenting it and cut it out.

Valentines card

I had an idea! OMG I hate it when I get an idea for a card in my head and then try to make it! Basically I came across a padded red and white heart and I had an idea to put this in a valentines card for Neil along with a bike!!! And I actually like the resulting card it seem to come together okay and since we will be on the road when it is valentines day, I gave it to Neil early, and he loved it!!!

The reason behind this valentines card is that we will be starting out our cycle tour next week to South Australia and off course we will be on the pushbikes, but because we take the dog with us we both have to tow a trailer behind the bike (hence the trailer stamp filled with hearts!) although I do have bags up front of the bike they don't carry flowers but food! So this is a very specific valentines card for Neil!

We are fortunate at the moment to have our christmas holidays during our summer. I had a flip flop die from sizzix for a while and I decided to dig it out and use it I even cut out toe nails from pink card stock and attached them and applied glossy accents so it looks like nail polish!!! I also had some summer stickers, ribbon and metal embellishment from Making Memories so I also added that! I love the way the card turned out and definitely I like the colours!

ICS #97 Birthday wishes

I made 3 cards yesterday and by the end of the day I wasn't really happy with any of them which led me to believe that I may have lost my mojo for a bit!!!
I got up early this morning (and I mean really early as I couldn't sleep!) and I made this card following the sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches.

I love using these bull and cow stamps from Ferngully stamps and I am not sure where I got the fence stamp from but I do know that it has been in my stamp collection for a very loooooong time!

Just for You - The Sweet Stop

Sort of struggled with this card a bit. I followed a sketch from the Sweet Stop blog. The sketch is nice and easy to use but for some strange reason I just couldn't seem to co ordinate the card properly and had to do it twice - I think I lost my mojo when I made it!

The stamps are from Annabelle Stamps and I have stamped the stems and stamped the flower heads seperately on white cardstock, fussy cut them and applied glossy accent to them and curled them up a bit.

Time is the most precious gift we can share

Here is a card I made for Card Positioning systems sketch #200 and following a card recipe from Annabelle Stamps blog where I had to include 1 border stamp (Sassafras Lass stitched borders), 2 petals and 3 sprinkles (3 pink bling on the right hand corner of the cherry stamped paper).

I stamped the Lucys' stamps cherry blossom on white cardstock and used a blender pen and marvy pens to colour the images in. The paper is very old from Basic Grey and the quote is also from Lucys' stamps.

Here is a card I made following the sketch from Annabelle Stamps. I have used papers from the Basic Grey Prairie collection and the stamps are from Hero Arts.

I have fussy cut the bees and flower and have applied glossy accent to them and also kindy glitz to the body of the girl bee.

For You butterfly

Whew what a christmas and new years ... I have over eaten and feel like an absolute blob at the moment!
It has been nearly 2 weeks since I have made a card for the blog. At the moment I am with my family in New Zealand and unfortunately I could only bring an absolute minimal amount of craft with me ... initially the craft part of my luggage weighed 16.5kg so I had to cut back severely! Eventually I managed to narrow it down to 3 projects with no cutting machine or dies to come with me.
I have made my embellishment for this card and have made this butterfly by cutting 4 circles and folding them in a series of mountain and valley folds. I am quite happy with the way how the butterfly turned out (after 2 failed attempts at it!).
